If you skip right to the end, which was the last book that you did that with?

All answers will be posted at the close of the contest period on Thursday, November 3rd.

Michal
The Great Cat Massacre By Rpbert Darton

marion miller
I try not to do that. However, I did it with The Paris Wife by Paula McLain because I just had to know if he left her.

Linda B
I never skip to the end.

Lynda T
A Stolen Life By Jaycee Lee Dugard The details of her life were just too horrible, so after the first couple of chapters, I skipped to the end.

Art Harriman
I think that to 'skip' is unfair to the author and most certainly is unfair in many ways to the reader.

Phyllis
The Language Of Flowers

PATRICIA FLANIGIN
I have never gone to the end of a book to see how it ends. Where is the enjoyment of reading the story if you know how it ends?

Paulette Mandell
Bonnie By Iris Johansen

Donna Petrilla
The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern It was too long.

Sharon Elliott-Fox
The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin

Rosanne
I often do this with a book that I am enjoying and becoming anxious about. I think the last time I did this was when I read Gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson. I needed to know that Arlene Fleet survived her search for her high school boyfriend.

Paula Rainbow
American Heiress By Daisy Goodwin

Judy
I have been so tempted at times but I have never have skipped to the end of any book. In doing such a thing I would be cheating myself out of the original experience the author intended.

Lynn
Burnt Mountain by Anne Rivers Siddons

margaret Nance
Flash and Bones by Kathy Reichs

Ingrid Stukey
The Chair by James L. Rubart It was an excellent book.

Linda Jitmoud
In the Woods by Tana French was the last book I skipped to the end, but I do it with every book. I then go back to where I was and read to see how the author got from Point A to Point B. I'm a writer, so those things are important to me.

Sue Daniels
The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen

Carol Gowett
How Firm a Foundation by David Weber That's how I learned it was a defective book and the last 25 pages were missing!

Susie
I facilitate two book groups. I read between fifty to one hundred pages into the book, then read the last page or last few paragraphs. By doing that, I am able to follow the clues the author gives throughout the story. It helps me look for questions as well as answers.

Joyce
Today was the first time I ever skipped to the end. I skipped with Skipping A Beat by Sarah Pekkanen (but now I know I just cheated myself).

Karen T
Quinn by Iris Johansen. Sometimes I skip to the end if the book is really interesting. I still read the entire book.

Rita Carter
I don't remember the name of the book, but I hadn't liked it by chapter four, so I read the end so I could have an idea of what was being discussed at my book group. Am I bad or what?

Cloe Smith
The Buddha in the Attic By Julie Otsuka

Gigi Reynard
The Marriage Plot By Jeffrey Eugenides

kaye allen
Kennedy's Brain by Henning Mankell I do not usually do this but this was a very scary and sad situation. It was scary because it could happen and probably does. It showed man's cruelty to others.

Jennifer
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

S. Weber
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

Ellen Whitney
I've done that with so many, I don't remember the last one.

julie barrett
I never skip to the end.

Bonnie Loeser
I skipped to the end of F. Paul Wilson's The Dark at the End and Charles Frazier's Nightwoods.

Susan Grilk
In 1988 or '89, I was at the International Reading Association convention in Toronto. There was a huge exhibition area. Some authors were there hawking their books. I can't remember the title (thought it was "Killing Mr. Griffin," but Amazon says that was written by a woman), but I picked up a book and read the first few pages and the last few. I was impressed. I bought a copy and took it to the author for his signature. As he signed it, I told him what I had done. Bad idea. He was furious. I thought he was going to confiscate my copy. Ever since, in deference to all authors, I don't peek. Ever.

Tamara Randi
I skipped to the end of Cemetery Dance by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

Corinne
I skipped to the end of The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks.

Marsha Creter
I never skip to the end! Never have and never will!
