THE WEDNESDAY SISTERS
While waiting to buy it I read her first book, LANGUAGE OF LIGHT. I loved this book. The reviewer here on Bookreporter says she was confused about the time period this book was set, which was surprising, as it was perfectly clear to me.
I loved LANGUAGE OF LIGHT by Meg Waite Clayton. It was a beautiful. THE WEDNESDAY SISTERS seemed as though it was written by a different author. I think I was disappointed in it b/c I thought it would be written as insightfully as her first.

THE SHACK by William P. Young. What a great read!!!

The last 2 books I bought after reading reviews/recommendations were THE VANISHING ACT OF ESME LENNOX by Maggie O'Farrell and THE STORY OF EDGAR SAWTELLE by David Wroblewski, which were both very good. I am reading ANIMAL, VEGETABLE, MIRACLE by Barbara Kingsolver (recommended by a friend) right now and it is startlingly good and disturbing if you care at all about what you eat.

I really am not supposed to by buying books until I get more shelves, so I make regular use of our local library. However, the book I had to return before reading, because it's in such high demand, is THE LACE READER. I'm going to have to buy it! Another that I've purchased and not taken time to read yet, but highly anticipate, is THREE CUPS OF TEA.
B Snell
It had to be a cookbook because those are really the only books I purchase. The last review I read that made me go rush to the library was for THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN.

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL by Philippa Gregory. It was on just about every bestseller list, I saw previews of the movie, and an awful lot of people were leaving good reviews so I thought I have to find it. I liked it!

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES by Sue Monk Kidd. I kept seeing reviews for this book, and it must have been lost on me because I didn't think it was all that great. I may have to read it again to see what I missed.

ATONEMENT by Ian McEwan. I kept hearing about this book everywhere because of the movie, and I saw reviews. I liked it, but sometimes it seemed a little long in spots and I started to lose interest fast.

THE PAINTED VEIL by W.Somerset Maugham. I actually got the movie (I had never heard of this book) then started reading up on it and had to have the book. It's the only book I've ever asked a bookstore to hold for me, which was good because they only had two of them.

I believe the last book I bought on the strength of a review was ON CHESIL BEACH by Ian McEwan. Sadly, I was very disappointed by this book, especially after reading the wonderful ATONEMENT and SATURDAY. It won't ruin my faith in reviews, though!
