Canadian Reader
Although technically released in the fall of 2006, the paperback edition of THE ROAD by Cormac McCarthy didn't become available until 2007. It was the stand-out book for me this year. I certainly think it was one of the best --- mesmerizing, stunning, moving. Another extremely fine title in the children's book category was A PERFECT GENTLE KNIGHT by Canada's Kit Pearson. It was a very moving book that is not just for kids.
