Carol Mithers

Carol Mithers is a Los Angeles-based book author, feature writer and collaborator known for her story-telling skills and ability to explore social and women's issues in a human, compelling way.

Carol's magazine and newspaper work covers a wide range of genres, from essay to reportage to social criticism and stories about design and celebrity profiles, but depth and craft are a constant. She vividly shows the heartbreaking reality of an immigrant nanny's life, the messianic drive of a medical marijuana activist and the personal tragedy behind the heroic anti sex trafficking efforts of Sochua Mu, one of Cambodia's preeminent opposition leaders.

She has written for the Los Angeles Times and New York Times, the Village Voice and L.A. Weekly, O the Oprah Magazine, Town & Country, Architectural Digest, Parenting, Glamour, Self and Ladies' Home Journal. Her Village Voice article, "My Life As A Man," was syndicated internationally and became an NBC Movie of the Week. She has appeared on numerous television programs, including "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
