Police Detective Pia Kirchhoff is about to leave on her long-delayed honeymoon when she receives a phone call regarding incidents of eerily similar murders. Two women are killed by a bullet fired from the same weapon. None of the victims had enemies and no one knows why they were singled out. As fear of the Taunus Sniper grows among the local residents, the pressure rises on Detective Kirchhoff. She and her partner, Oliver von Bodenstein, search for a suspect who appears to murder at will.
The remote resort town of Fjallbacka has seen its share of tragedy, though perhaps none worse than that of the little girl found in a fisherman’s net. Local detective Patrik Hedstrom has the grim task of discovering who could be behind the murder of a child he knew well.
