BIO
Ursula K. Le Guin was born in 1929 in Berkeley, California.
She is the author of more than one hundred short stories, two collections of essays, five volumes of poetry, ten books for children, and eighteen novels. Her Earthsea books have sold millions of copies in America and England, and have been translated into sixteen languages. Among her honors are a National Book Award, five Hugo and five Nebula awards, the Kafka Award, a Pushcart Prize, and the Harold D. Vursell Memorial Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
