Descent of Man

Review

Descent of Man

Seventeen outrageously humorous short stories that
illustrate the darker side of mankind. In Boyle's world failure
comes with the territory, although the protagonists frequently
don't understand the reason for it. A primate-center researcher
becomes romantically involved with a chimpanzee, and Norse poet
overcomes bard-block. These and other strange occurrences come
together in this collection of satirical stores that brilliantly
express just what the "evolution" of mankind has
wrought.
