Herb Crehan

Herb Crehan is a Boston baseball historian who has written over 100 feature articles for the official program of the Boston Red Sox during his 18 seasons with the club. He is the author of two books, LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE: The Sox of ’67 and RED SOX HEROES OF YESTERYEAR, and he has contributed chapters to five other books on Boston baseball history. Crehan speaks extensively on Boston baseball history including appearances at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, New England Cable News, WBZ radio, and numerous Society of Baseball Research (SABR) meetings throughout New England. He is a long-time member of the Society for American Basebal Research and the Boston Braves Historical Association.

He created and presented a four-week course on the “History of Boston Baseball: 1871-2011” in the spring of 2012 for the Sherborn Council on Aging.  The four sessions were recorded and re-broadcast by Dover-Sherborn Cable-TV.
