RED AZALEA by Anchee Min, 4 1/2 stars
Anchee's story of growing up in China during the Cultural Revolution. A beautiful and simply written story. Highly emotional tale and not always easy to read.

THE JAMES DEAN AFFAIR by Bob Levinson, 3 1/2 stars
Fans of Hollywood's glory days will enjoy this mystery/thriller/who dunnit. Some fascinating information about James Dean. This book is on the LA Times best seller list. I enjoyed it until the last part. The ending left me hanging and I didn't appreciate that. I did, however, go out and buy Levinson's first book THE ELVIS AND MARILYN AFFAIR.
