Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Lisa Scottoline's LOOK AGAIN.

Andria from Midland, MI

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
No, LOOK AGAIN is the first book by her that I have read.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read Michael Palmer, Harlan Coben, Laura Lippman, Val McDermid, Ridley Pearson, Patricia Carlon (though sadly, she died a few years ago), Stephen White and Robert Crais.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
The plot, though easy to follow, left me with some things to think about. Although the protagonists were clearly in conflict, none were “right” or “wrong”, which increased my interest in the resolution of the story. I also enjoy books where I learn something, and I learned a bit about adoption law and procedures in LOOK AGAIN. She also presented an interesting twist on journalists, with reporters pursuing one of their own kind.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
You bet!

Angela from Greenville, SC

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
No, I have never read any books by Lisa Scottoline.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read books by Erica Spindler, Ann Rule, J. D. Robb, Carol Higgins Clark, Mary Higgins Clark and Wendy Corsi Staub.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
LOOK AGAIN was an amazing book full of suspense and emotions and, frankly, I had a hard time putting it down! I laughed, I cried, and found myself wondering if I were in Ellen's shoes, would I have made the same choice?

Courtney from Katy, TX

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, I am a long-time reader of Lisa Scottoline; I don't think I've missed any of her books.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read a long list of suspense/thriller authors including: Jeffery Deaver, Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, John Sandford, Tess Gerritsen, Jonathan Kellerman, Patricia Cornwell, William Bernhardt, Stuart Woods, and Janet Evanovich. These are just a few off the top of my head and as you can see, there is quite a variety in style represented.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
I thought LOOK AGAIN was very well written and very true to how I might have reacted in a similar circumstance. It was easy to put myself in the place of Ellen Gleeson and to feel her fear, confusion, love, and determination.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
I would absolutely read another Lisa Scottoline book; just tell me when it will hit the stores!

Yes, most definitely.

Elizabeth from Bruce, MI

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
No. I assumed she was like the majority of mystery/thriller writers and wouldn't be mysterious or thrilling enough to suit me. I was wrong. I discovered a great writer. And, the nice thing about discovering great writers is that now I get to go back and read their previous books.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I've read quite a few, but truly like only Dennis Lehane, Joseph Kanon, and Harlan Coben (and now Lisa Scottoline).

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
This is one of those rare books that can keep me up at night, and which I honestly don't want to put down. I usually remember that I am reading fiction, so I am not as affected as I was by this book. Toward the end, it even had me upset about what was happening to one of the characters.

My advice to people who haven't read a Scottoline novel: Read LOOK AGAIN first. It will get you hooked and make you want to read her other books.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Definitely yes! As a matter of fact, now I want to read everything she's already written.

Gaye from Mesa, AZ

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Lisa Scottoline is a first-time author for me! I’ve seen her books for years but always had too many other books on my TBR pile. Since I assumed she was a female John Grisham, I figured I didn’t need to try her out. When I read that she was featuring a journalist this time, I had pretty much decided to finally give her a try. This was a great opportunity afforded me when the book arrived in the mail!

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I enjoy Thomas Perry, James Rollins, Lee Child, Jeffery Deaver, Jan Burke and Daniel Silva, to name a few.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
Timely writing made this book easy to adjust to. I wonder how it will play out ten years from now. Will it seem dated? I found Lisa Scottoline’s writing snappy and her subject engrossing. She tugged --- alright, pulled --- at every mommy-heart-string I have. She kept me guessing and that was a pleasure. The one flaw I struggled with were the very short chapters! I felt like she was channeling James Patterson! It felt like an iPod book, a Facebook entry at times. I yearned for more words, more meat! I’m a big girl now! Give me more than what a Kindle can handle please. I found it a bit distracting.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Sure. I’m game to try at least one.

Kathleen from Beloit, WI

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
I thought it was terrific. I read it in two days!

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Definitely!

Linda from Union, NJ

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, but it was a long time ago and, truthfully, I didn't really enjoy it.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Harlan Coben, Patricia Cornwell, Dan Brown, Thomas Harris, Chelsea Cain, Tess Gerritsen, Robin Cook, Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, John Sandford, and James Patterson.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
Light, quick read. Interesting premise. I would have enjoyed more depth in the characters.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, if the premise seemed interesting.

Mike from Sterling Heights, MI

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read Linwood Barclay, Stuart Woods, Lee Child and James Patterson.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
This book held my interest from first to last page. There was just enough suspense to keep the reader turning the pages. Very interesting ending.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, I would.

Paula from Lansing, MI

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, I have read several of her books; the most recent one was KILLER SMILE and, to be honest, this has been my favorite one.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read all of Jeffery Deaver's books. I also liked the older books by James Patterson and have read a lot of Kellerman's also.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
I thought it was very good. At first I thought it was predictable, but then as I read it, it turned out I was wrong. I thought the twists and turns were unexpected and had good timing throughout the book. I also like the character development. I did not like the part about gathering "info" for DNA testing --- I thought that was a tad far fetched, but it fit in the book ok. I did like the ending, although I did kind of expect [the outcome].

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes.

Sally from San Juan Capistrano, CA

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
This is my first time reading a book by Lisa Scottoline.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
James Patterson. I am sure there are others, whom I can't think of right now.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
I could not put this book down. The premise interested me at first, as I am a foundling who was adopted. But soon the thrill of page turning happened, and I couldn't wait for answers. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the climax of the book hits the reader like a ton of bricks and the story races at top speed to a complete and satisfying ending. I loved this book and would give it a top rating.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Absolutely.

Susan from Pawcatuck, CT

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
Fast paced, well written, a real page turner. I didn't want to put it down. It was a believable storyline for today.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, definitely.

Susie from Greenwood, IN

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
This is the first Lisa Scottoline book I have read.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
Ellen Gleeson’s life is turned upside down by the simple act of looking at a post card advertising a missing child. Not only does she recognize the child, but realizes it is her very own adopted son, Will. During the search for the true identity of her child, Ellen faces many moral issues. She wants to do the right thing, but not face losing the dear little 3 year old she has cared for and nursed back to health. The story is filled with intrigue in searching for Will’s biological parents, but also discoveries of deception that leaves the reader turning the pages quickly to discover the truth. Ellen meets people along the trail of hunting for answers. Her relationship with her father, her co-worker, and her editor assist Ellen in finding her way through the blizzard of facts and lies. Reading the book gives oneself the chance to examine the innermost core of virtue. Would I be able to do what Ellen did?

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
I have purchased her titles for the collection in my library audio book area. Her stories are filled with real issues with real people. This will not be the last Scottoline book I read.

Suzanne from Coulterville, IL

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, I've read several of her books and enjoyed them all.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Lisa Jackson, James Patterson, Lee Child, Linda Fairstein, and many others.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
I thought the beginning dragged a little, but once I got into the book, I got caught up in the story. Ellen's anxiety and frustration really came through. The ending caught me a little by surprise, though.

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Can't wait for the next one to come out!

Deborah from Houston, TX

Have you previously read a book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, most of her books.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Many other writers, including Tami Hoag, Laura Lippman, Peter Robinson, Thomas Perry, Lee Child and Stig Anderson. I've gotten into the Scandinavian authors.

What did you think of LOOK AGAIN?
It was not for me. I think she lost me when she described the main character's wallpaper with happy cows and the red-checked couch. It speaks to a lack of sophistication. I prefer Bennie Rosato. And I much prefer Jacqueline Winspear's books, in part, because of the descriptions of her clothes. Shallow, no?

Would you ever read a future book by Lisa Scottoline?
Yes, of course. Because I am an optimist! This may be a deviation from her usually appealing books. There's another of her books that I've tried reading 4 or 5 times. No luck so far, but I keep trying.
