Lisa Jackson

Fast Facts:

  • Lisa grew up in a small town in Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in English. She never imagined she would become a writer, though, and worked for several years in banks, as well as in trust and insurance companies.
  • Lisa began writing under the influence of her sister, author Nancy Bush. In the early 1980s, after the two women had left their jobs in the banking industry to care for their young children, Nancy suggested that they both try their hands at writing romance novels. Numerous rejection slips later, Nancy published a teen novel, DARE TO LOVE, in 1982 and Lisa published A TWIST OF FATE in 1983.
  • Today, Lisa’s sister Nancy is the author of the highly praised Jane Kelly Mysteries series.
  • Lisa has written over 50 novels throughout her career that range in genre from contemporary and medieval romances to romantic suspense thrillers and mysteries.
  • Several of Lisa's books were New York Times bestsellers: her 2006 release, FATAL BURN, reached #1 on the paperback list, while SHIVER (2006) and ABSOLUTE FEAR placed in the top 5 on the hardcover list.
  • Lisa co-wrote a romantic suspense thriller with authors Beverly Barton and Wendy Corsi Staub, called MOST LIKELY TO DIE. It was released in February 2007, and debuted at #6 on the New York Times Bestsellers list.
  • Lisa’s next book, LEFT TO DIE, will be published in July 2008.
  • Some of Lisa's influences are Agatha Christie, Mary Stewart, the Nancy Drew series, Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, Nelson DeMille, Harlan Coben, Steve Martini, William Lashner and Nancy Bush.
  • Lisa has a myspace page, at http://www.myspace.com/lisajacksonbooks
  • Currently, Lisa lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family and their 80-pound dog.
