Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Barry Eisler's FAULT LINE.

Kenny from Buffalo, NY

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
I read FAULT LINE the last couple of days. I enjoyed the book immensely.

Although, I have to admit that I have read this book many times before. The plot isn't new, the protagonists aren't new. The writing, though, is fabulous --- as is all of Mr. Eisler's writing. At this stage in my life, a great book is a great book. They don’t have to be totally different in plot and characters. To me, now, it is the style of the author, not necessarily the totally new or never-done-before plot.

Would you ever read a future book by Barry Eisler?

I certainly love Barry Eisler's style and hope to read again about the Trevens and John Rain.

Kevin from Mint Hill, NC

Have you ever read a book by Barry Eisler?
I have not read any other books by Barry Eisler, but I plan to do so.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you read?
James Patterson is my favorite author.

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
I enjoyed FAULT LINE very much. It had an excellent storyline from the very beginning. It was easy to follow and was very interesting. I read it in just two nights because I didn't want to put it down and actually stayed up until 2 a.m. the first night and rushed home to finish it last night. I loved the ending, although I was initially hoping that [things would end differently for Alex and Sarah]. Mostly, I'm glad that Alex and Ben resolved their childhood issues.

I would like to see a second book with a continuing storyline as one this left some loose ends, as far as Ben's, Sarah's and Alex's futures.

Have you ever read a book by Barry Eisler?
I've never read Barry Eisler before.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you read?
Joseph Finder, James Siegel, John Grisham, Robert Ward, Stephen J. Cannell, and Colin Harrison.

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
Loved it! It's a total page turner, with a really propulsive storyline that is filled with some great, unexpected twists and turns. When you finish a chapter, and it’s getting late, you think you'll read just one more chapter before you go to bed or take a break or what not. The next thing you know, it's five hours later and you're still reading! The characters are fascinating --- I loved the interaction between the two brothers. And the whole thing felt genuine and real, and a piece of the times. Clearly, this guy knows his stuff.

Oh. One last thing. Even though it’s really fun, there's also some meat to this book's bones, delving into some particularly interesting moral issues.

Ramona from Orlando, FL

What other suspense/thriller authors do you read?
I read James Patterson, J. D. Robb, Lisa Gardner and Allison Brennan. The list goes on and on!

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
When I finished reading FAULT LINE, my first thought was, "Wow! What a ride!" It's a very modern day thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out just who the good guys and the bad guys were. I loved the family aspects brought into the storyline, and the book reminded me how quickly we are to judge who someone is by something as simple as a name. Having a son in the Army Reserves, it makes me wonder just what our government is really doing out there to ensure our American freedoms --- do we go too far, or are the under-the-radar activities necessary? What a great ending to a great book. It leaves it open for another story.

Would you ever read a future book by Barry Eisler?
Absolutely, I have ordered the first in the John Rain series, and can hardly wait to begin reading them. I will also be sharing these books with my son because this is the type book he enjoys reading as well.

Rhonda from Middleburg, FL

Have you previously read a book by Barry Eisler?
This is my first.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I don't read very many suspense/thriller authors. Dan Brown, mostly.

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
I really liked it. At first I thought it would be a total "guy" book, but I soon got into and it and there was plenty for me to enjoy.

Would you ever read a future book by Barry Eisler?
Yes.

Mike from Katy, TX

Have you previously read a book by Barry Eisler?
I have read all of Barry’s books. The John Rain series is one of my favorites.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
In no particular order: Lee Child, Daniel Silva, James Rollins, Steve Berry, David Baldacci, Brad Thor, Brian Haig, Vince Flynn, J. A. Konrath, Michael Connelly, Brad Meltzer, Nelson DeMille, Jason Pinter, and others. The list is too long... Eisler’s Rain series is in my Top 5 for sure, though.

What did you think of FAULT LINE?
Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed. It seemed very predictable and familiar. The action was nonstop, but I could feel where it was going every step of the way. 3 out of 5 stars.

Would you ever read a future book by Barry Eisler?
Of course; without hesitation.
