QUESTIONS FROM READERS

M.J. Rose answers readers' questions about researching ideas for storylines and the continuation of the Phoenix Foundation series.

Michael from North Salt Lake, UT: How did you come up with the idea for your books? How did you conduct your research for them?

M.J. Rose: I keep a notebook of small ideas as they occur to me and it seems that very, very small ideas fester and develop over time and grow into ideas for whole books. And in terms of research, I get tons of books on the subjects that are in the book and immerse myself in reading about every aspect of the history and science, philosophy and of the times I'm writing about.

Sandra Lee from Arleta, CA: Will there be a third book to the series? I certainly hope so.

M.J. Rose: There will be. I'm writing it now and it takes place in present-day New York City, in the present and in Persia in 1888 and in Ancient Greece in 450 B.C.E.
