Michael from North Salt Lake, UT
Have you previously read a book by M. J. Rose?
I have never read a book by M. J. Rose.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I really enjoy Stephen King, J. K. Rowling, John Grisham and Clive Cussler.
What did you think of THE MEMORIST?
THE MEMORIST is at times haunting, and at other times very mysterious. It is well written, and keeps you riveted to the story line. It held my attention, and the subject seems to be well researched and thought out.
Would you ever read a future book by M. J. Rose?
I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of THE REINCARNATIONIST. If it is anywhere near as good as THE MEMORIST, I will be a lifetime fan of any of her work.
Sandra Lee from Arleta, CA
Have you previously read a book by M. J. Rose?
Yes, THE REINCARNATIONIST.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
The list is long: John Sandford, Mary Higgins Clark, David Baldacci, Jeffery Deaver, James Patterson, Michael Connelly, Lisa Gardner, John Lutz, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Ridley Pearson, Sue Grafton, James Grippando --- and last but certainly not least is the one who keeps me in stitches from page 1 to the end, Janet Evanovich. (This is an incomplete list --- all of my books are packed so I don't have them for quick reference.
What did you think of THE MEMORIST?
This is a fantastic read. You never know what is coming next. One of the things I loved about the book is that much of it takes place in Vienna, a place I could never imagine visiting --- so it was almost like getting an armchair tour of another country. Rose also writes extensively about Beethoven, providing tantalizing history of the man, not just the composer. I want to learn more about Beethoven now, and will probably search for a good biography.
Would you ever read a future book by M. J. Rose?
Absolutely. I intend to read the rest of her earlier books too.
Pat from Dittmer, MO
Have you previously read a book by M. J. Rose?
No, I haven't.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read Dean Koontz, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.
What did you think of THE MEMORIST?
Good book, but it seem to drag somewhat. I felt like I was missing something.
Would you ever read a future book by M. J. Rose?
Yes, I would read another by M. J. Rose.
Jackie from La Mesa, CA
Have you previously read a book by M. J. Rose?
I had not previously read a book by M.J. Rose.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Other suspense/thriller authors I read are C.J. Box, Joseph Finder, Michael Connelly, Iris Johansen, Stephen White and, my very favorite, Brad Meltzer.
What did you think of THE MEMORIST?
The subject matter was not to my interest. I don't believe in reincarnation. But I did like Miss Rose's style of writing. I though she did a good job of putting the story together. Obviously she had done her research. Her style of writing reminded me of one of Steve Berry's books... THE VENETIAN BETRAYAL.
Would you ever read a future book by M. J. Rose?
Probably unless it was a subject in which I was interested.
Leah from Brooklyn, NY
Have you previously read a book by M. J. Rose?
No.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read John Lescroart, David Baldacci, Vince Flynn and Brian Haig.
What did you think of THE MEMORIST?
It was well written, but it wasn't my style of book. As a rule, I like books that deal with the present.
Would you ever read a future book by M. J. Rose?
No.
