What did you think of NIGHT KILLS?
John Lutz creates a nail biter like no one else. In NIGHT KILLS, the characters are well rounded with all their human frailty. From the team of retired NYPD detectives trying to identify a serial killer, and the current NYPD trying to sabotage that team's efforts, and to the evolution of the killer into pure evil, John Lutz pulls you in spellbound.
Once you start reading, you risk many sleepless nights --- reading just one more chapter. One after another.
Would you ever read a future book by John Lutz?
Yes, I cannot wait for the next novel. I hope it is another Frank Quinn novel!

I read Lee Child, David Baldacci, Steve Berry, Stuart Woods, James Lee Burke, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Nelson DeMille, plus many others --- I read two to three books a week of all types. I have just finished THOSE WHO SAVE US and will be starting King's new short stories.

No, but I want to.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?

What did you think of NIGHT KILLS?
I loved it. I was a really easy book to get into and the suspense built with each page. I loved the fact that there are times you just aren't sure why the killings were taking place, and just exactly why the sharpened stick was part of the ritual? In other words --- my kind of book. It kept me thinking.
Would you ever read a future book by John Lutz?
Oh, absolutely.

What did you think of NIGHT KILLS?
First, I want to thank Bookreporter.com for having these contests. It's fun!
I loved this book! My main criteria for liking an author is that he or she entertains me. I like a good story. And NIGHT KILLS was a very good story. I actually met my husband through an online dating service ten years ago, so I was glad he had not yet written this book to give anyone ideas! LOL (I still have all my limbs so far).
The characters were well thought out and there were not so many as to become confused. The plot was great, with just enough twists to hold my interest from start to finish. I'm looking forward to his next release!
Would you ever read a future book by John Lutz?
Absolutely. And I also look forward to going back and reading previous books that I've missed.
Have you previously read a book by John Lutz?
No; in fact, I wasn't even familiar with his name, which is unusual because I am a compulsive reader and also volunteer at the local library.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read Harlan Coben, Lee Child, Kathy Reichs, Ridley Pearson, et al.
What did you think of NIGHT KILLS?
I really enjoyed it, enough so that I suggested to my friends who also read the same kinds of books as I do.
Would you ever read a future book by John Lutz?
Most definitely! Why have I not read about him in any of the book sites I browse?
Have you previously read a book by John Lutz?
No. But I don't know why since I very often pick up books by people that I have never read, especially if they are award winners.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
In order of importance: Stephen Hunter, Greg Iles, Ken Follett, John Grisham and Dan Brown. I also have read dozens of others, but not on a regular basis.
What did you think of NIGHT KILLS?
This is a great read. Lutz is obviously a natural storyteller. Every time you think you know what is coming next, he pulls a switch.
I did have some problems with minor details, especially his treatment of Louisiana. Since I lived there for 30 years, the people and the area did not seem real. Also Louisiana has no counties. To me these lapses indicate a writer that does not do his homework. A lot of the action scenes seem like a script for television. I find it hard to believe that three veteran cops would have to shoot so many times at a man standing in plain sight. However, it still is a very exciting story. A real page turner.
Would you ever read a future book by John Lutz?
Yes. As a matter of fact I have DARKER THAN NIGHT on my list. According to his website, it is the first Frank Quinn book.
