  • Linda majored in English literature at Vassar and earned her law degree at the University of Virginia.

  • Linda is one of America's foremost legal experts on crimes of sexual assault and domestic violence.

  • Linda ran the Sex Crimes Unit of the District Attorney's Office in Manhattan for more than two decades. Her work in this unit helped inspire the television series, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

  • Linda’s nonfiction book, SEXUAL VIOLENCE: The War Against Rape, was a New York Times notable book in 1994.

  • Linda’s first novel, FINAL JEOPARDY --- which introduced Manhattan District Attorney Alexandra Cooper --- was published in 1996 to critical and commercial acclaim. This title was adapted into a made-for-television film on ABC in 2001, starring Dana Delany and Billy Burke.

  • KILLER HEAT, the tenth installment in the Alexandra Cooper series, was inspired by a real rape case from the 1970s.

  • Linda’s novels have been translated into more than a dozen languages.

  • Linda lives with her husband in New York and on Martha’s Vineyard.
