  • Michele Martinez --- the daughter of a Puerto Rican father and a Russian Jewish mother --- grew up in inner-city New Haven, Connecticut and attended public schools during the height of racial tensions and rioting in the late 1960s and 1970s.

  • Michele is a graduate of Harvard University and Stanford Law School.

  • Michele was a federal prosecutor in New York City. For eight years, she worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District, which covers some of the most drug- and gang-infested areas of Brooklyn and Queens.

  • After having two children, Michele wondered how she could balance her personal and professional life. Now, as a writer, she is able to spend time with her family while still maintaining her connection to the world of crime and law enforcement.

  • Michele’s debut thriller, MOST WANTED, was inspired by a dream she had one night.

  • Michele’s writing is fueled by her life experiences. She shares insider's knowledge of the real world of crime and law enforcement with her readers.

  • Michele's latest book, NOTORIOUS, is the fourth novel in a series featuring New York City Prosecutor Melanie Vargas. Previous installments include COVER-UP, MOST WANTED and THE FINISHING SCHOOL.
