What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
In light of what is going on with oil today in America, I thought it
was a well-timed and wonderfully crafted story of how the cards all
will fall down and we will go back to an agrarian society (as if). I
could hardly put the book down, and I read it at lunch and on my breaks
at work.

technical head.

What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
While everyone goes along using up oil at their own pace and speed, the
environmentalists in this book decide to use what was meant to clean up
oil spills to sabotage the oil supplies of the world. This whole
concept is petrifying and enthralling. Mills makes his charactersvery
human, and both the environmentalists and the government have their
self-centered people who might destroy the world as we know it for
everyone. This is one of those edge-of-your-seat books that could be
all too real. How and why could this ever happen in real life? My mind
and emotions would not let me put this book downuntil Ifinished
reading it. Now, it remains with me as a"much to think about" book.I
really liked the evenhandedness, but truthfulness of Mills's
storyline. I will read more of his books, for sure!!
Would you ever read a future book by Kyle Mills?
Definitely!
Cathy from Aldan, PA
Have you previously read a book by Kyle Mills?
No.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
James Rollins, David Baldacci, Gyle Lynds, Steve Berry and many more --- too many to list.
What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
I liked it very much. It was too close to what seems to be happening
today, something we all should payclose attention to. It was fast
paced, not overcomplicated, and very easy to follow. I loved the
characters and the plot.
Would you ever read a future book by Kyle Mills?
Oh my, yes.
Lori from Centennial, CO
Have you previously read a book by Kyle Mills?
DARKNESS FALLS is the first book of his I've read. After reading this
one, however, I plan to pick up THE SECOND HORSEMAN and FADE.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Barry Eisler, Gayle Lynds, David Morrell, and so many others!
What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
I enjoyed meeting Mark Beamon. He's a complex character torn between
settling down with the family he's always wanted and having to head up
a complex investigation. What I particularly enjoyed about this book
was the pacing and how the plot made you really think about what life
would be like with no oil for energy. The complications truly are more
far reaching than I ever would have imagined. Someday, that will be a
reality.
Would you ever read a future book by Kyle Mills?
Yes!
Peggy from Tilton, NH
Have you previously read a book by Kyle Mills?
Yes, I had previously read FADE, which I loved.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read everything.I especially like Lee Child, John Grisham, Michael
Crichton, Ken Follett, and David Baldacci.
What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
I really enjoyed DARKNESS FALLS. I loved the main characters and the
fast-paced plot. With gas now around $3 a gallon, the story line was
frighteningly real and really made you think. DARKNESS FALLS is one of
those books that you keep reading, even when you should be doing
something else, because you just have to find out how it all turns out
in the end.
Would you ever read a future book by Kyle Mills?
I am looking forward to it. I will probably also look for some of his
other books that I missed.
Susan from Winter Park, FL
Have you previously read a book by Kyle Mills?
No, I hadn't read anything of his before and actually hadn't even heard
of him.
What other suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
John Grisham, Harlan Coben, Lee Child and David Rosenfelt.
What did you think of DARKNESS FALLS?
I will be perfectly honest --- I didn't like it. I would not recommend
it to a friend (usually I share books). The characters were not
likable. I really didn't care what happened to Erin or Jenna, and I
believe the author wanted us to care. I found the plot --- that our oil
supply could be tampered with --- believable, but I did not think that
once our government was involved, they would have handled the situation
as portrayed in the book. It just wasn't my cup of tea. The first one
hundred pages in which the author sets up the story made for slow
reading.
Would you ever read a future book by Kyle Mills?
Probably not. I would have to read a great review or have someone pass
it along to me and say that it would be worth my time.
