What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
I really enjoyed DON'T SCREAM. I couldn't wait to finish it, and I picked it up every chance I had. I would read while watching my favorite TV shows, in the car while my husband was driving, before bed, over coffee. It had me guessing and held my interest to the end. It was a surprise ending --- I had many ideas, and I didn't expect it to work out the way it did.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I am planning to pick up her previous books and make her one of my favorite authors.

What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
This was really a good book. It captured my interest from the [beginning] and is really a page turner. I could hardly wait to get to the end to find out who the real killer was, and boy, was I surprised. It was not any of "MY" suspects, so it was a complete surprise. What a great read.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I definitely would read her other books.

What other romantic suspense writers do you read?
I'm not sure what the definition of "romantic suspense" is, but I love all kinds of mysteries, suspense thrillers, and horror stories, and this fit right in with all of those.
What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
I thought it was a great book! I loved the fact that the author kept up with each character within each chapter, as opposed to dedicating an entire chapter to a character before moving on. There was definitely more than one twist at the end, and one that surprised even me!
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
Absolutely! I will definitely put this author on my list of what I want to read.

What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
I loved it --- it was really hard to put down when I had things to do. I read it in two days and became really involved in what was going on. I really like Brynn's character. I also kept trying to guess who did it, and was really surprised at the end. I loved the way she kept trying to steer you in various directions and then tied everything in together. There were several subplots going on and I enjoyed them all. I also really liked reading about a married couple --- you don't see that as much in romantic suspense.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I definitely will. I have the anthology she helped write earlier this year next up on my TBR pile and a few of her older romantic suspense books up soon.
Thanks so much for sending me the ARC --- I really enjoyed reading it!

What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
I was impressed by the author’s style of writing. I liked that she dropped hints along the way as to who the murderer was, but didn't give it all away early in the novel. I also like that she gave lots of red herrings to throw you off the track and keep the suspense going!!
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I have already ordered Ms. Staub's previous book from my local library, and plan to read all the other books she has written.

Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I had never read this author's books. DON'T SCREAM is a follow-up to the book MOST LIKELY TO DIE, which I wish I had read first. But I will purchase it!
Janet from Hot Springs, AK
Have you previously read a book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I have never read a book by Wendy Corsi Staub. I have read other romantic suspense books --- Lisa Jackson comes readily to mind.
What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
When I first began reading DON'T SCREAM, I thought, what an old, worn-out theme --- I know what you did last summer (in this case, 10 years ago). But, as I got into the book, it really kept my attention. However, there were a lot of old worn-out themes throughout, nothing really unique. I enjoyed the book, though, until the killer was finally revealed and then I really felt let down. The killer's motive was really lame and it didn't fit the brutality of the murders. Even the main character, Brynn, thought so. Maybe if we had seen more of the killer's thinking throughout the story, such as watching the anger and bitterness build up, it would have been better. I think this would probably be better as a movie, just for the shock value of the brutality. Of course, then it would be just another slasher movie. I don't see this as a romantic suspense book --- there was no romance in it, just a couple with a troubled marriage who stay together in the end.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I would read another book by Wendy Corsi Staub because I like mysteries.
Tina from Alamo, TX
Have you previously read a book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
Not that I know of.
What other romantic suspense writers do you read?
I'm not that particular. I'm a middle school librarian, so much of my reading is on the young adult level. I occasionally win these drawings and my adult reading is pretty much limited to the luck of the draw.
What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
In general, I liked it. I'm going to pass my copy on to my assistant. She has two teenaged daughters who will probably like it also. It was a combination of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Friday the 13th, so it would probably appeal to older teens.
The one thing that I didn't like was the switching characters. The only indication was the extra spacing, and if I missed it, I had to back up and re-read to realize that the author had switched characters. Maybe a row of asterisks or a date and/or location would alert the reader and make it easier to follow.
Example:
McAllen, TX:
SueEllen drove her suburban out of the mall parking lot and onto the expressway....
Weslaco, TX:
Joe ordered a double order of Patos from El Pato before heading over to see his ex-wife to pick up his daughter for the weekend. ...
That was my only complaint.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
Yes.
Tia from Collinsville, AL

I have never read Ms Staub before.
What other romantic suspense writers do you read?
Tami Hoag, Linda Howard, Kay Hooper and Karen Robards.
What did you think of DON'T SCREAM?
I thought the idea behind the story was good, but I found that the book wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. I think the author described [the characters' physical appearance too much, but didn't go too in-depth into their personalities.] One was too wishy washy, the other, too much of a workaholic, etc. The others weren't mentioned much before they were gotten "rid" of. I give her credit for a couple of twists that made things interesting, but overall, I struggled with this book. It took me a week to read, and I found myself putting it down quite frequently, because it just didn't excite me to read it.
It seemed to ramble a bit, and I wasn't sure which character was which when she switched to someone else; but since I haven't read one of her books before, this might be her trait.
Would you ever read a future book by Wendy Corsi Staub?
I would try to read another of her books. I always give an author two chances before I throw them to the wayside. If their books don't interest me after two, then I move on to something else.
Thank you for letting me have an opportunity to read and comment on this book.
