What suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I am pretty much a fan of anything by Robert Crais, James Patterson, Michael Crichton, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, David Baldacci and Scott Smith. Although, since I’ve been reading Bookreporter.com, my reading list has expanded.
What did you think of STEALING THE DRAGON?
This was a thrill ride through the winding streets of San Francisco. I have visited [that city before], and felt very much like I was there again. I always enjoy learning something when I read fiction, and I was interested in Mr. Maleeny’s take on [Chinese] organized crime. I also thought his intertwining the story of Sally’s origin with events currently taking place with Cape made for fast-paced read. I’m always a fan of short chapters that make the book hard to put down. This was such a book!
Would you ever read a future book by Tim Maleeny?
I liked Cape and would be interested in learning more about him and his background. Although we know a great deal about Sally’s past, she still remains a bit of a mystery; however, the jury is still out as to whether I like the character. Hopefully we can see another dimension of her in the future. I suppose the short answer is that I would read another of Mr. Maleeny’s novels. If he can continue to keep me anticipating the next page, he will have found another loyal reader.

What suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
Any and all. Laurie R. King, John Dunning and Stephen White...my reading tastes are eclectic, my appetite insatiable. Add Tim Maleeny to my TBR list.
What did you think of STEALING THE DRAGON?
I was delighted to learn that this was Maleeny's debut novel. His characters are compelling; the touch of humor (reminiscent of Robert Parker's gift for dialogue) makes them appealing and believable. The plot was original, engaging and unpredictable; Maleeny seems to have a working knowledge of the dark side of Chinatown (or at least enough to make the plot believable to an outsider).
Would you ever read a future book by Tim Maleeny?
Absolutely. I'd hate to see Sally and Cape die with this book.

Douglas Preston, Greg Iles, David Morrell, Daniel Silva, Brian Freeman, Harlan Coben, Jack Higgins, James Grippando, James Rollins, Ken Follett, Kyle Mills, Michael Connelly, Michael Crichton, Nelson DeMille, Robert Ludlum, Stephen White, Steve Berry, William Lashner, David Baldacci, Lee Child and Phillip Margolin.
What did you think of STEALING THE DRAGON?
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The characters were well developed and very engaging. Cape and Sally were interesting and intriguing, [as were] many of the sub-characters. The storyline was fast paced and really held my interest. I read the last three quarters of the book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. It was a fun, fast-paced book to read. I would recommend it to anyone. I am ready for the next Cape and Sally installment. These two characters can go far if Tim Maleeny can continue to put them in storylines as good as STEALING THE DRAGON.
Would you ever read a future book by Tim Maleeny?
Definitely! I would read BEATING THE BABUSHKA if I had it tomorrow.
I was very impressed with his first novel. It was a well-written story with a great plot and characters. The story transported me to where I like to go when I read a good book, to an enjoyable place where nothing matters but the story! Great job. I will definitely read more of his books.

What suspense/thriller authors do you usually read?
I read Michael Crichton, Daniel Silva, Ken Follett, and Joseph Finder.
What did you think of STEALING THE DRAGON?
I felt that it was a gripping story. The jumping around with chapters from one part of the story to another kind of annoyed me. It seems disjointed. For me, It's hard to stay focused with that structure. It's very cinematic, overall, and has some cool imagery. I found it hard to relate to the characters. The action preceded any character development that would have made me care about them.
Would you ever read a future book by Tim Maleeny?
I am not sure.
