Lisa Jackson, Beverly Barton and
Wendy Corsi Staub

Fast Facts:

Lisa Jackson

  • Lisa began writing under the influence of her sister, author Nancy Bush. In the early 1980s, when the two women had left their jobs in the banking industry to care for their young children, Nancy suggested that they both try their hands at writing romance novels. Numerous rejection slips later, Nancy published a teen novel, DARE TO LOVE, in 1982 and Lisa published A TWIST OF FATE in 1983.

  • Lisa has written over 50 novels throughout her career that range in genre from contemporary and medieval romances to romantic suspense thrillers and mysteries.

  • Some of Lisa's influences are Agatha Christie, Mary Stewart, the Nancy Drew series, Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, Nelson DeMille, Harlan Coben, Steve Martini, William Lashner and Nancy Bush.

  • Lisa is planning on writing a sequel to her latest award-winning book, SHIVER, called ABSOLUTE FEAR. It will be released in April 2007.

Wendy Corsi Staub

  • When Wendy’s third grade teacher praised her first essay, she decided to become an author when she grew up. Years later, after that dream had become a reality, she was able to locate her teacher, retired and living in Florida, and thank her for the encouragement. They remain e-mail pals to this day.

  • Before becoming an author, Wendy was a romance novel editor for a major Manhattan Publishing house. To pay the bills, she also worked --- at various times --- as a bookstore clerk, office temp, telemarketer, book doctor, copywriter, writing instructor, and freelance reader for Redbook magazine’s fiction editor.

  • Wendy’s first novel SUMMER LIGHTNING, a gothic ghost story for young adults, won the coveted Rita award, Romance Writers of America’s version of the Oscar.

  • Wendy has lost her mother, mother-in-law and an aunt to breast cancer. She now actively supports several organizations that advocate victim support and research toward a cure for this devastating disease.
