QUESTIONS FROM READERS

Andrea from Clearfield, UT: How soon will it be until you publish your next book?

Robert Dugoni: I believe Time-Warner is talking about a January publication date for DAMAGE CONTROL. In the interim I'm working on an idea to bring back David Sloane, Charles Jenkins, and others from THE JURY MASTER in a new book.

Ed from Orlando, FL: Is this based on a true incident?

Robert Dugoni: No. The book is a work of fiction. Obviously people will relate this to the Vincent Foster incident, but the concept is purely fiction, as are the characters. Still, all writers write --- to a degree --- from personal experiences, and I did witness a pretty powerful closing in a San Francisco courtroom once that started the idea percolating.

Patricia from Goose Creek, SC: How hard is it to use so many characters and not get confused yourself?

Robert Dugoni: Thanks for asking. I'm actually laughing at the question because it is a good one. It can be hard. I did have a few occasions where I had to think twice about things like Tom Molia's kids' names. I don't think future books will have quite so many characters or plot lines. They will focus more on the main characters, though I've always been a fan of and written multiple plots.
