Dan Brown, Christopher Reich, Jeffery Deaver, Robert B. Parker, James Patterson, Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben, Daniel Silva, Jonathan Kellerman

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
Great plot, interesting characters. The book was a tremendous read for history of the subject alone. It had some rough spots but overall is awesome read. Can’t wait until his next book!

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
YES.

Booker583@netscape.net

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
No, I have not.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I don't generally read mystery thriller. Mathew Pearl, THE DANTE CLUB, was the last that I read. It was the historical aspect that drew my attention to this book.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
A great history lesson with the added benefit of page turning action. I breezed right through the book and couldn't wait to see what happened next. Definitely not your run of the mill formatted mystery book.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
Absolutely. I will be picking up THE AMBER ROOM as soon as I can.

emjaybee@excite.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
No, I have never read anything that I know of by Steve Berry.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Stephen J. Cannell, Jeffery Deaver, Jonathan Rabb, James Patterson, Carol Higgins Clark.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
The Romanovs and the fall of Nicholas II has fascinated me --- probably the most interesting era of Russian history, and so that was the big draw. The premise of restoring a monarchy in Russia is a creative "what if" that was a good base for the plot. The characterization of Miles Lord is good --- enough depth that he is a sympathetic character. I did have a bit of a problem believing that he was intelligent but not intelligent enough to figure out that Hayes was involved; also, that Lord's background of having a deceptive father and as a rising lawyer didn't make him skeptical enough to question other's characters more deeply. Some of the chase scenes set in Russia have been done so many times that the sense of suspense really didn't build until the characters reached Starodug. From there the story's originality and plot began to build much more suspense, and I found it more difficult to set the book down. I thought that Michael Thorn was a bit too romanticized --- just too wholesome or something. Despite my criticisms, I enjoyed the book very much. The riddled clues, the creative unfolding of Rasputin's prophecy, the flashback historical scenes, and the building suspense made the story. The details of such things as the Fabrege egg, the borzois, the Princess trees provide unique insights that add so much to the story.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
Depending on the subject matter, I think I would read another of Steve Berry's books.

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
THE AMBER ROOM has been on my to do list but until I received THE ROMANOV PROPHECY I was unfamiliar with Steve Berry, the author.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Among my regular reads for the adventure and suspense genre are titles by James Lee Burke, P. D. James, Richard North Patterson, Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly, among others.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
I found THE ROMANOV PROPHECY a good yarn, interesting form the historical perspective and unique in its political presumption. (Please, please...some important editorial effort has to be done in the first half of the book!) I feel that Berry made the case for a return to a monarchy in Russia and brought events of the early 20th century into a historical perspective that could make a reader think better of the study of past events. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and I will tell others to keep an eye out for the book.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
I intend to get the previous title and will look for forthcoming titles with interest.

Devilfan32@aol.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
Yes, THE AMBER ROOM.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
John Grisham, Lincoln and Child, James Rollins, Nelson DeMille, Michael Crichton, Michael Connelly, Jeffery Deaver.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
I thought the book was interesting. It dabbles a lot in Russian history which I liked. Character development was a little flawed. I liked this book better than THE AMBER ROOM, however. I think Berry has matured more in his writing since THE AMBER ROOM. This is definitely an interesting read and definitely caters to people who read and like THE DA VINCI CODE, myself included.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
Yes, I find his stories interesting. I always like thrillers that dabble with unsolved mysteries.

TheRockdove@aol.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
I was not familiar with Steve Berry before, but will now definitely look for his other works.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
My favorite suspense writer is Stephen King, I faithfully read everything he releases.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
I very much enjoyed this book, and appreciated the opportunity to be an advance reader.... I thought this was excellent. I especially liked the fact that the plot was not easily predictable, I was kept guessing until the end.

thegoodwife@myway.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
No.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Dan Brown (THE DA VINCI CODE)

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
In truth I'm still reading the book, but I was truly surprised when Miles Lord was revealed to be black. This alone has spurred my reading on and I am deeply engulfed in this engaging book.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
I've already gone and purchased THE AMBER ROOM.

HarvelRx@aol.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
I have not read any other Steve Berry novels until this one.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I usually read books by James Patterson, Koontz, Ludlum, Daniel Silva, Scott Turow, Tom Clancy and Stuart Woods.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
I enjoyed reading the book very much. It had a slow start but gradually picked up speed and then really took off. I was fascinated by the Romanov family history and found myself using reference books to look up additional information. My admiration for Miles Lord and hate for Taylor Hayes increased with my reading. And what a great ending!!

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
I would certainly enjoy reading other books by Mr. Berry.

tbvanice@suscom.net

This is the first book by Steve Berry that I have read.

What other suspense/thriller authors do you read?
I read books by Sue Grafton, James Patterson, Iris Johansen, John Grisham, Lisa Scottoline, Jonathan and Faye Kellerman, Mary Higgins Clark to name just a few of my favorites.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
THE ROMANOV PROPHECY was very interesting to me as I am fascinated by the story of Nicholas II and his family. The book was well written and seemed to be historically accurate. Great suspense....you never knew what was happening next. It is one of those books that you can hardly put down.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
I would definitely read another Steve Berry book. In fact, I want to find THE AMBER ROOM.

mcq.bmcq@verizon.net

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
I have read Mr.Berry's first book THE AMBER ROOM and found it to be just my cup of tea and recommend it highly.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY
THE ROMANOV PROPHECY is even better [than THE AMBER ROOM] in my opinion. It hooks you right away and then stuns you with a plot twist you just can't stop turning the pages. Kind a like a strike'em out throe'em out in Baseball. My most enthusiastic "Read the book, you will be glad you did."

rav_chick452@sbcglobal.net

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
No.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Tom Stewart.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
I loved how I had to wait tell the end to find out the answers.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
Yes.

sknapp@stny.rr.com

Have you previously read a title by Steve Berry?
No.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Um..... well I have in the past read Ludlum, Deighton. I'm not sure that some would be considered in this genre. For instance, Kathy Reich, Tami Hoag and John Grisham.

What did you think of THE ROMANOV PROPHECY?
Well, since Tsaric Russia is not one of my interests, it took me a bit to get into the book. But.......suddenly I found myself hooked on the story and the characters. I was alternately bored (in the beginning), hooked (cold hardly lay it down), and angry at Mr. Berry (I thought he had killed off one of the main characters!!). All in all I would recommend this book to anyone, and I already have, to a friend who IS interested in that period of Russia's history.

Would you ever read a future title by Steve Berry?
Yes, I intend to read THE AMBER ROOM, and would read him again.
