QUESTIONS FROM READERS

William Lashner, Bookreporter.com's featured suspense author for April, answers readers' questions about his books and characters.

j.beason@attbi.com: Fantastic book. I just finished an ARC copy and loved ever minute of it. I hope your next book doesn't take as long to come out as this one did. Are we going to get more of Victor? I hope the book sells big and you get the reviews you so richly deserve. Thank you for the fun ride. P.S. I just started A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME.

William Lashner: Hey J, thanks so much for you positive comments. You definitely will get more of Victor Carl, the man with two first names. There should be a new Victor novel in the spring of 2004, if the Bar Association doesn't strip him of his license before then. I don't think Victor Carl, dry cleaner, would work as a thriller series, though some of those gravy stains can be murder. Be careful with the Hawking book, if you read it too fast it can blow your mind.

I do not like books with a continuing character. I feel it makes the author lazy and the book predictable. But, I love Victor Carl and will read every book he is in.

I absolutely loved HOSTILE WITNESS. I can't wait to read the others!
