The Copperhead

About the Book

The Copperhead

THE COPPERHEAD is the story of Abner Beech a religious, righteous but stubborn farmer from Upstate New York. Beech boldly defies his fellow neighbors and government  in the autumn of 1862. For his different views Beech is shunned by his community and even some family. Things get sticky when Beech's son falls in love with the daughter of Beech's chief tormentor and joins the army. Beech's son Jeff is lost during a battle in the midst of the Civil War, or so we think. But, this is a story unlike any other.  This is a tale of redemption, retribution, violence and vengence as well as love in the midsts of war. THE COPPERHEAD to this day is still the greatest untold Civil War story.
