No Place to Hide: Hidden Identity, Book 3

What do the FBI, bioterrorism, secret codes and murder have in common? Ian Lockwood and Jackie Sellers are about to find out.

Neither one is really looking for any of these things. But when Jackie’s childhood friend appears on a news bulletin as a wanted and dangerous terrorist, she feels compelled to reach out to help him. Even though she hasn’t seen Ian for years, she is sure that he is incapable of committing murder or bioterrorism. So naturally, she breaks into his house to offer her assistance. She doesn’t quite get what she expected, though. Ian (along with his martial arts skills) is waiting for intruders…and dangerous men are right on Jackie’s heels.

"I’ve been a fan of Lynette Eason’s work for years. But NO PLACE TO HIDE, the third installment in her Hidden Identity series, may surpass all her other books in both excitement and suspense."

Faced with the possibility of arrest for a crime he never committed, Ian goes on the run, accompanied by Jackie and his trained service dog, Gus. Jackie, a former police officer, works for Operation Refuge, an organization that assists and sometimes saves those in desperate need of help, or hides those in danger. The group’s operatives come with an impressive array of gifts and training, including creating disguises, firearms skills, and the ability to survive life-threatening situations. Framed for unspeakable crimes, Ian must discover who’s behind them before he is arrested and charged --- and the real criminals get away with murder.

But first, they have to figure out exactly what Ian is being framed for and why the real criminals are directing law enforcement in his direction. Ian is a researcher for Wainwright Labs and has been seeking to develop a vaccine for malaria to aid those in the developing world. And the terrorist accusations, and Ian’s run, seem to have started with a misdirected email containing a secret code that no one (on the side of the good guys, at least) can crack. Jackie and Ian’s investigation leads them from Atlanta to Virginia, New Jersey and New York City. And they are pursued every step of the way by dangerous criminals with serious firepower.

While Ian’s faith in God sustains him as he and Jackie run from one place to the next, Jackie discovers that she is also running from God. Since her former police partner was killed, she has been hiding from the One she is sure could have prevented the entire tragedy. And she is not so sure that He will do anything to save them now. Is she right? Will the secret she has been hiding for years be exposed as they race to prevent a tragedy?

A cryptologist, a veterinarian, an artist, a mortuary owner and the CDC director all have parts to play in this dangerous game. As Jackie and Ian race against a terrible countdown, criminals and false imprisonment, their childhood friendship is strengthened and renewed. While they’re dodging bullets, will they fall in love with each other? There’s also the God that Jackie has been evading. Will she learn that He is truly worthy of her trust and faith? And can He save them, and America, from a terrible fate?

I’ve been a fan of Lynette Eason’s work for years. But NO PLACE TO HIDE, the third installment in her Hidden Identity series, may surpass all her other books in both excitement and suspense. Jackie, Ian and their dangerous world of bioterrorism --- and faith --- will keep readers fascinated and involved until the very last word.
