Margaret
Weis and Tracy Hickman have done it again. Fifteen years after the
first book in the critically acclaimed Dragonlance series and over
thirty books later, the sequel to DRAGONS OF SUMMER FLAME has long
been anticipated. Devastated by the loss of the gods, the magical
world of Krynn has been plagued by death and uncertainty. However,
a new faith may be emerging in DRAGONS OF A FALLEN SUN.
Darkness floods over Krynn when a magical storm sweeps out of the
heavens. Into the valley of Neraka, the ancient location of the
minions of Takhisis, Queen of Darkness, a young girl emerges unscathed
from the storm. The girl is called Mina and she has much to accomplish
in Krynn. Her first act is to take command of a patrol of the Knights
of Takhisis. Despite the fact that she has less experience then
their newest recruit, the Knights of Takhisis swear undying loyalty
to her because she performs miracles that have not been seen since
the end of the Fourth Age, more than 30 years before. In the Fourth
Age, the gods ruled over Krynn, and healing and magic were common.
Now in the Fifth Age, The Age of Mortals, Krynn is in a time of
peril and death, and the magic left in the world is waning --- and
no one is sure who to blame.
Meanwhile, the Silvanesti Elves gain a new Speaker of the Stars,
but how long will it be before he must protect his lands from Mina
and her amassing army? Will the new speaker lose the mystical lands
of the elves to a teenage warrior-woman? Perhaps, perhaps not.
In other parts, the Puppet King in Qualinesti seeks refuge for the
elves from Beryl, the green dragon overlord. Where will they turn
to now that the evil dragon overlords rule Qualinesti? Will Mina
accomplish all that she sets out to do? The past rests in the hands
of childlike, fun loving Kender, or so it seems.
DRAGONS OF A FALLEN SUN takes you on a journey to heal the magical
world of Krynn from a past that has returned to haunt it. A past
that is nothing but a black void, where nothing is left. New readers
and hard-core fans alike will not be disappointed by this latest
offering by best-selling authors Weis and Hickman. Come visit with
old friends, new friends, and even enemies in this War of Souls
--- and see how long you can hold out for Volume II.
