QUESTIONS FROM READERS
Lucie Whitehouse answers readers' questions about real-life influences and inspiration, the release of her next book and the possible fate of her characters.

Lisa from Conshohocken, PA: When creating these characters, did you pattern the group of friends after some of your own friends, such as a group from college?
Lucie Whitehouse: The characters weren't based on a group of my friends, no --- thank goodness. The closest way in which my own friendships are reflected by those among my characters is in Jo's friendship with Martha, which includes elements of my own with my two very good girlfriends. Elements of Danny come, perhaps, from a couple of people I used to know who were very bright and unconventional, but neither of them was malevolent!
Sherry from Broken Arrow, OK: When is your next book releasing?
Lucie Whitehouse: I'm not sure yet when my next book is coming out. I'm working on it at the moment, and am hoping to have a fair draft by the end of this year. There's no firm publication date scheduled yet.
* Josh from New York, NY: Did Greg live?
Lucie Whitehouse: My sister thinks it is revealing of the reader's personality whether he or she thinks Greg lives or dies. Being an optimist, she believes he lives. I'm not going to say definitively, but I think the clues are there in the imagery of that final paragraph!
