QUESTIONS FROM READERS

Linda Francis Lee answers readers' questions about the inspiration behind her colorful characters, the possibility of a big-screen adaptation of THE EX-DEBUTANTE, and when her next novel will be published.

Celina from Pendleton, SC: How do you dream up such colorful characters?

Linda Francis Lee:
Dear Celina,

Everything in Texas is big. In fact, Houston is on the eastern edge of Texas and El Paso is on the western edge, and it takes the same amount of time to drive from Houston to El Paso as it takes to drive from El Paso to Los Angeles --- about 18 hours! (Depending on who is driving. <g>) Perhaps because I was born and raised in such a larger-than-life world, the stories that come to me have that same feel.

xoxo,
Linda

Ruth from Oshkosh, WI: As I read this book, I kept visualizing it as a movie. Are there any such plans? I see by your website that THE DEVIL IN THE JUNIOR LEAGUE is being made into a movie. Also, will you continue to write books based in Willow Creek?

Linda Francis Lee:
Dear Ruth,

THE EX-DEBUTANTE is being shopped to movie people now. The screenwriters' strike set us back a bit, but fingers and toes crossed now that Carlisle Cushing will be headed for the big screen. And I am working on the next Willow Creek novel now.

xoxo,
Linda

Ginny from Saginaw, MI: When can we expect your next novel?

Linda Francis Lee:
Dear Ginny,

Hopefully in a year from now. I have to say I love these Willow Creek characters.

xoxo,
Linda
