Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about David Gibbins's CRUSADER GOLD.
Christy from Clarksville, TN
Have you previously read a book by David Gibbins?
I hadn't read any of his work but I'm sure going to get his previous
book, ATLANTIS, now.
What other authors do you usually read?
Julia London, Shirley Tallman, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, Nora Roberts,
James Patterson, Joseph Finder, Clive Cussler and many others.
What did you think of CRUSADER GOLD?
I think Gibbins is an excellent author. In CRUSADER GOLD,he goes into
such depth, historically, and in developing the characters while making
the story suspenseful and fun. The adventures and misadventures that
put the team into peril during their quest made it fast moving and had
me at the edge of my seat, wondering how they'd get out of the tight
spots (at times, literally) they managed to get into. He's a great
teacher within the book, as well as in the foreword and afterword
sections to explain his basis for the story.
Would you ever read a future book by David Gibbins?
Yes!

No.

What did you think of CRUSADER GOLD?
If you like Cussler and Brown, you will like this book. Putting viking
history into all western world histories --- from Rome to the Middle
East to the New World --- makes for a great story. Five stars.
Would you ever read a future book by David Gibbins?
I will buy his first book.
Mary from Thomson, IL
Have you previously read a book by David Gibbins?
No. I have not previously read a book by David Gibbins.
What other authors do you usually read?
Dan Brown, Diana Gabaldon, Nancy E. Turner, Debbie Macomber, Louis
L'amour, Steve Berry, Tony Hillerman, Sue Grafton, and Dana Stabenow
are some of the authors I read, but since I read over 200 books a year,
I cannot begin to list them all.
What did you think of CRUSADER GOLD?
In my opinion, Gibbins obviously understands much more of the technical
workings of diving machinery and equipment than I will ever absorb, but
he did get the point across as to what was working, as well as how and
what it did. I thought his writing was pretty smooth, and it stayed
fairly well in the chronological vein (I don't much care for books with
an overabundance of "flashbacks") and kept the tension going for the
reader. It was a bit gory in spots, but the atmosphere it created made
the insane actions of the warped Loki seem much more believable.
Would you ever read a future book by David Gibbins?
Reading a future book by Gibbinswould depend on the subject matter,
but I am going to have our librarian get his previous book, titled
ATLANTIS.
