Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Elizabeth Joy Arnold's PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE.

Cam from Murrells Inlet, SC

What authors do you read?
Pete Hamill, P. D. James, Jodi Picoult, and Isabel Allende.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
I thought it was a good beach read. I enjoyed reading about the relationship between the twin sisters and the differences between them. When one thinks of identical twins, some of us believe that twins share not only the same physical characteristics, but the same emotional feelings as well.

Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
Yes.

Joan from South Berwick, ME

What authors do you read?
I normally read books by Nelson DeMille, Robin Cook, Michael Palmer, John Grisham, Kathy Reichs and Patricia Cornwell.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
This was an exceptional book. The story about twin sisters and how their lives became so different was very absorbing.

Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
I definitely would read another of her books.

Marcia from Paradise, CA

What authors do you read?
James Lee Burke, John Sandford, Margaret Maron, Nevada Barr, and Edna Buchanan.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
I found this to be a very good book. Arnold writes beautifully, in an almost rhythmic prose that pulled me into the story quickly and made it difficult to put the book down. She takes the reader into the emotionally charged lives of identical twins locked together in a lifetime of intimacy, love, devastating loss, resentment, and jealousy. The book sheds light on the private paradoxical relationship between twins that most of us can never really understand, and it's fascinating and very thought provoking. Primarily, however, it's a terrific story.

Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
Absolutely, especially as what we call a "great summer read."

Michelle from Battle Creek, MI

What authors do you read?
Generally, I read a wide variety of popular fiction. Some of my favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, and Wally Lamb.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
I enjoyed reading the book, and became involved with the characters almost from the first page. It felt quite similar to another book I read recently, THE LAST SUMMER OF YOU AND ME by Ann Brashares, though I enjoyed PIECES more and found the story line more believable. I must say, however, I did not find Eve to be a very sympathetic character, and really didn't like her at all.

Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
Yes, I would read future books by Ms. Arnold.

Robin from Salem, OR

What authors do you read?
In the women's fiction vein, Diane Chamberlain, Elizabeth Berg, Luanne Rice, Barbara Samuel, Jo-Ann Mapson, and many others. I also read a plethora of other authors in various genres such as Jonathan Kellerman, J. A. Jance, Sue Grafton, Bill Bryson, Nicole Mones, and Sophie Kinsella, plus too many others to list.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
I loved this book! Even though the cover fairly screams "beach read", don't be fooled --- it is so much more than a hot-weather fling. I read the book asking myself, "Can what seems to be an unforgivable act at the age of 17 be forgiven when one becomes a mature adult, even though it may seem to have ruined your life?" The suspense of what one twin sister does as a teen kept me flipping the pages and I had a terrible time putting the book down.  It was an emotional ride and I read the book with a lump in my throat, hoping that the sisters would find a way back to each other before one dies from cancer (this is known from the start so this is not a spoiler). As a readers' advisory librarian I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Elizabeth Berg, Diane Chamberlain, and Luanne Rice.  While I'm not sure I would recommend this to the library book group (as it's a mixture of men and women), I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to women's book groups.
Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
Yes! I can't wait for her next book.

Sandra from Philadelphia, PA

What authors do you read?
James Lee Burke, Elmore Leonard, Carl Hiaasen, Dennis Lehane, Irvine Welsh, and James Patterson, as well as Mitch Albom and Nicholas Sparks.

What did you think of PIECES OF MY SISTER'S LIFE?
Emotional and inspiring, it also motivated mel to reconnect with my own estranged sister

Would you ever read a future book by Elizabeth Joy Arnold?
Certainly.
