Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Robyn Young's BRETHREN: An Epic Adventure of the Knights Templar.

What other authors do you read?
I am an eclectic and bilingual reader (English and Spanish). Some of my favorite authors are Alexander McCall Smith, Ken Follett, Noah Gordon, Debbie Macomber, Jose Saramago, Isabel Allende, Sophie Kinsella, Dan Brown, Margaret Atwood and David Sedaris.
What did you think of BRETHREN?
I think it is an engaging, well thought-out, and developed story. It kept me interested from the start, and I couldn't put it down. From the moment you meet the hero, you feel compelled to follow him in this great adventure. Although there are many books out there with the similar theme of the Last Crusades, etc., I believe readers will find that Robyn Young has done an excellent job in recreating the ambience and history of the Medieval Epoch.
Would you ever read a future book by Robyn Young?
I can't wait to read a sequel!!! I think she is a gifted storyteller and I look forward to her visit to the Miami International Book Fair --- where I live --- so I can meet her in person.

What other authors do you read?
I read a variety of authors --- some of my favorites are James Rollins, Daniel Silva, Harlan Coben, Patricia Cornwell, and many more. I am also in a book club so I read many other types of novels out of the usual adventure, fantasy and suspense genres that I enjoy.
What did you think of BRETHREN?
I enjoyed reading BRETHREN. It was suspenseful, historical and adventurous. I really enjoy reading fiction with historical background because, for me, it so much more interesting to read than just picking up a nonfiction book about the same historical topic.
Would you ever read a future book by Robyn Young?
Yes, I am looking forward to it.

What did you think of BRETHREN?
The atmosphere was rich and dense with history. The parallel storyline added to the realism.

What other authors do you read?
I read so many different authors that I am stumped at where to start, so here it goes. The Bible, BGEA.org authors, John Grisham, Sue Grafton, J. K. Rowling, any and all Oprah book club referrals, and many self-help and inspirational authors. That is just for starters.
What did you think of BRETHREN?
I am truly enjoying this book even though it is a bit of a challenge for me. I find it very deep and I can't take much of it at a time. I have to let it soak in and then go back for more. This is not a negative statement --- I like that it is deep and challenging. I have not read any Of the other books about this subject, nor have I seen The Da Vinci Code, so I don't know whether that is good or bad in respect to how I am taking to BRETHREN. At first, I thought, "Wow, I need a glossary!" --- then, what a delight it was to actually find one a short time later in the back of the book. I have not found glossaries in most books that I read, and I really give Robyn points for that!
Overall, I am quite enjoying the adventure. I will say that I am the type who likes to wait until a whole series is available so that I can access the next book right away, instead of having to wait a year or so for the next installment. I know I am probably in the minority in that regard. Having said that, I am thankful for the opportunity and challenge given to me with this book.
Would you ever read a future book by Robyn Young?
Yes, I believe that I would, indeed.

What did you think of BRETHREN?
I enjoyed the book very much. I read a lot, and sometimes the stories just seem to blend together. This book stands apart. Ms. Young's terrific character development, excellent storytelling, the battles, and the mystery involving the Book of the Grail make this book one of my favorites on the Knights Templar subject matter. It's the kind of book you never want to put down, and I can't wait for the rest of the series! I highly recommend BRETHREN. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read this terrific book by Ms. Young.
