Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Kate Mosse's LABYRINTH.

Reeca from Ripley, MS

What authors do you usually read?
I have a wide variety of authors that I usually read. I like Greg Iles, Steve Berry and I also like Julie Garwood, Barbara Wood and Barbara Delinsky. I also enjoy John Katzenbach, Janet Evanovich, Mary Kay Andrews, Nelson DeMille and Dorothea Benton Frank, just to name a few.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
I thought this book was one of the best books I have ever read. I was so engrossed that I practically read it in two days. I could not put it down. I loved the way the author changed time periods. It really kept you enthralled. It was also a book that taught you a lot about history. It was really a fabulous read! I can't wait for my book club to read it.  That will be a great discussion! Thank you so much for choosing me to preview this book. It was truly a wonderful experience and a wonderful book.

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
I cannot wait for Kate Mosse to come out with another one. I hope it is out tomorrow!

Nina from Berlin, MD

What authors do you usually read?
The authors I usually read are Alexander McCall Smith, Elizabeth Peters, M.M. Kaye and Jacqueline Winspear.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
I really liked the characters. I learned some history. I am always fascinated by intrigue in families. I also enjoyed the parallel between the past and present.

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Yes, I would.

Peggy from Tilton, NH

What authors do you usually read?
Dan Brown, John Grisham, Harlan Coben, Michael Connelly, Lee Child, Kathy Reichs, Stephen King and more ---whatever interests me.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
It grabbed my attention right from the start. I loved that the main characters were strong women. I thought it was very interesting the way the story alternated between the present and the past and [how] seamless the stories were woven together. The writing was beautifully descriptive and, with bits of French language scattered throughout, made me feel as if I were there. A pleasure to read!

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Definitely! I loved this one.

Sharon from Knoxville, TN

What authors do you usually read?
Patricia Cornwell, Richard Montanari, James Patterson, Debbie Macomber and Harlan Coben.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
I think it was extremely different than the books I usually read. It was interesting in that it was very descriptive and made you feel as if you actually were in the time it was describing. I loved Alice and her adventuresome character. Doesn't everyone want to have her life, sometimes?

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Possibly, depending on the topic.

Wayne from Vineland, NJ

What authors do you usually read?
I usually read all types of literature, but I mostly like fantasy, thrillers and horror. I am especially fond of Sara Douglass, Juliet Marillier, Dan Brown, Dean R. Koontz, Steve Berry, Nelson DeMille and Clive Barker.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
At first, I was not quite sure what to think about LABYRINTH. Usually I do not like books with multiple protagonists with different but related stories spanning different slices of time. But, the more I read, the more I was drawn into the stories of Miss Mosse's strong female leads. The book was suspenseful and kept my interest, but I cannot help but wonder how many more "Dan Brown-type" books we, the reading public, will be subjected to due to the popularity of THE DA VINCI CODE.

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Yes, I would, provided the subject matter interested me. Miss Mosse is a very talented writer.

Mary-Fran from Sharpsburg, MD

What authors do you usually read?
I read a great variety of books and authors. I have no one group/type of author that I read. I usually totally go by the book cover and base my judgment on that. However, I do enjoy John Grisham, David Morrell, James Patterson, Danielle Steel, Beverly Lewis, John Gilstrap, Brad Meltzer and Dorothy Garlock, just to name a few.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
I thought the overall plotline was excellent. For me to explain my thoughts on the book, it would be better to divide the book into the "historical" section and the "present-day" section. I found the historical section, the part of the story that took place in the year 1209 to be fabulously written. I was held captivated by that story. When the book would switch back to the 2005 corresponding story, I was sorely tempted to jump ahead to read the next installment of the 1209 saga. (No, I didn't do it...that is a pet peeve of mine.) On the other hand, I found the present-day, 2005 section of the book to be poorly written. I found it was a bit difficult to follow as the author was constantly bringing new characters into the plotline.  Quite honestly, the 2005 part of the book really failed to hold my attention.

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Yes, I would read another novel by Kate Mosse. She did an excellent job on the historical segments of this book

Mike from Troy, MI

What authors do you usually read?
James Patterson, Robert Ludlum, Steve Berry, Stuart Woods, Robert Parker and John Lescroart, to name a few.

What did you think of LABYRINTH?
I thought the book spent too much time with the characters in the past. There didn't seem to be as much character development for the present-day characters as for the others. The book was not easy to leave for a short period of time and then come back and continue reading. I feel that I have the ability to follow several plotlines, whether in books or film, but this book presented a challenge along those lines. It was not a book that I couldn't put down and I was found myself skipping parts to finish the book. All this said, I did enjoy the book and might recommend to those I feel would like that type of novel.

Would you ever read a future book by Kate Mosse?
Yes, I would read another Kate Mosse book.
