| Authors' Summer Reading Lists |

| Happy Friday!
Today was not an average Friday. I started with a segment on the CBS local news talking about Harry Potter at 5:45AM. Then this afternoon I did a segment for FOX Cable News Network. Our Harry Potter survey on Kidsreads.com got a lot of media attention!
Well our THREE HP books, as the boys refer to them, arrive tomorrow. I could see there was going to be no sharing in this house so bought in multiples. Given the length of the book, I can see that this will bring many peaceful hours. Our house will be like a library for a few days. I am wondering how many other households are doing the same. I am reprising this as my book tip for the week!
I love that this book is an event. Yesterday I had a chance to look at a listing of more than 1,000 parties planned around the country. The imagination of the booksellers has been incredible. One of my favorites was from a bookstore in Alaska where the town is so small they do not have a stoplight or a movie theatre, but they are having a Harry Potter party. And since it is summer solstice, it will be light there at midnight!
Wondering what authors are going to be reading this summer? We have that answer from more than 60 authors in our Authors' Summer Reading List feature. This is the third summer that we have done this list and once again it's been terrific fun to see what authors have on their reading piles. I spent an evening earlier this week clicking from author to author. See if you can figure out what the most popular book is with this group of writers.
Also this week we have a very special interview where Stephen White interviews Lisa Gardner. Find out what these two Suspense/Thriller authors had to say about Lisa's books and writing in this genre.
Lots to read this week so I am going to close now and take advantage of the fact that I am glammed up in television makeup and go out to dinner!
Happy Summer...for the record, tomorrow is my fave day of the year as it's the LONGEST day of the year. While the calendar here is stuck on April showers at least it's light for a long time. Yes, I am an endless optimist! Or sleep deprived! Or maybe I should head to Alaska!
Have a great week...

| Don't Miss: Celebrating 100 Years of Ford |
Where would we be today without Henry Ford and the company he established in 1903? The introduction of the low-priced Model T changed the way Americans lived and led to the growth of suburbia and the creation of a national highway system, while the use of the assembly line to produce automobiles revolutionized American industry. This year the Ford Motor Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and in honor of this special event we take a look at two recently published books that detail the fascinating history of this American institution.
