Dear Reader:

I hope that you had some time to peruse our Summer Reading Lists, and that they are inspiring some ideas for your own "must read" lists. Quick note: A big thank you to the reader who spotted our error in the ending date for the Summer Beach Reads Contest. We inadvertently put the date that our Summer Beach Reads Feature is scheduled to end. We have now corrected the contest information to reflect the correct ending date of July 26th. Please note that we will begin sharing entries with your fellow readers in late June.

Many thanks to all of you who have responded to our Author Survey. The Book Report Network is preparing to launch a new website called AuthorYellowPages.com this fall. In light of that, we'd like your feedback about your experiences with author websites. This survey closes June 8th.

We are looking for Bookreporter.com readers --- or friends of Bookreporter.com readers --- who are either entrepreneurs or business executives (both men and women), for a project that we are doing on behalf of an author. It will take less than five minutes --- online! If you fit this criteria, or know someone who does, drop me a note at Carol@bookreporter.com.

I spent some time at my local library these past few weeks. My older son signed up to be a library volunteer. He has a shelf of books that he is responsible for keeping organized. Section 616 in the stacks looks perfect. I am amused that the same child who cannot organize his room or office is very exacting about this role. While he shelves, I spend time chatting about books with the librarians. We look at reserved titles and use this as our springboard for discussion. (I feel the reserve shelf is a lot like when you check out at the supermarket and look at everyone else's cart and then suddenly get inspired for crumb cake, or the perfect strawberries.) I enjoy this loose exchange about books. Our library is running a Summer Reading promotion for adults, where local merchants are donating prizes. While I often see this done for children, it's nice to see it happening for adults. If any of you are librarians and have an interesting program running in your library this summer, drop me a note and tell me about it.

Lots of news this week...including news from our sponsors, who we would appreciate your supporting....
