Dear Reader:
I love the Olympics. This past week I have been caught up in the "Skategate" controversy when I am not sitting in wonder looking at that drop from the downhill entry and the air that the snowboarders are getting. All this sheer athleticism wears me out. Reading is so much more my style. I would win a medal in turning pages. Thinking about this, I decided that we should have a Reading Olympics, thus this week's poll question. Which on our list of bestselling authors should be awarded the gold medal in getting YOU to turn the pages? How about the silver? And the bronze? Vote here.
Valentine's Day conjurs up thoughts of romance, but for the sixteen authors features on our Romance Roundtable, it's more than hearts and flowers. It is all about writing and it's big business. Read their comments about the genre responsible for more than 50% book sales each year. Now that's a statistic to flirt with!
The other night I was commuting home with a friend and I asked what he was reading. He said, "LINCOLN by Gore Vidal." I said, "Is it good?" and his reply was, Yes, this is the fourth time I read it." I rarely reread books. I have my favorite, A TRACE OF FOOTPRINTS that I easily have read a dozen times, but beyond that, I do not "repeat." But I wonder how many of you do. So, here's our question of the week..Have you ever read a book more than once? If so, which book have you reread the most and how many times? Respond to the question of the week by sending mail to: Question@bookreporter.com.
