Dear Reader:
This week we bring you some more "best of" lists. In the first each of the staffers picked their favorite book of the year. I could not pick just one, so I am sharing my favorite dozen titles. I am reading a book now that should make my "best of" list --- Blood by Patricia Traxler. More about this book in Don't Miss next week. It is a real winner! Those of you who access the Internet via AOL may be aware that we have a chat room on our AOL site called Bookaccino. There we have a number of hosts who moderate chat about books. We asked them to give us their "best of" lists as well. Be sure to check those out.
I am a mad collector of great holiday books, videos and music. Since I am sure there are many of you who enjoy this as well, we have pulled together lists of both classic and new holiday titles.
Many times you tell us that you failed to save an issue of this newsletter. Please know that in case you ever miss an issue of the Bookreporter.com Newsletter you can go here to find back issues. By the way, if you are an @home subscriber, or know someone else who is, please be sure to give us your new address when you change your service. Many thanks to those of you who wrote all week this week to share your new addresses with us. We appreciate it.
Not sure how many of you know that Bookreporter.com posts a Quote of the Day every day on the website. In this very hectic month of December, you may want to bookmark this page. We have some wonderful quotes going up this month to inspire you.
Still shopping? Unless you're way ahead of everyone else I know you've still got a long list to cover. Our What To Give, What to Get feature has expanded this week to include a mix of new music books from rock to opera, some great titles for teens, and several smaller size books that would make the perfect thank you gift or stocking stuffer for most any age or interest. Be sure to check out all the other suggestions we've featured these past couple of weeks. You might avoid a few hours of mall mania this year.
Onto this week's lineup...

New This Week
Best Books of 2001
Continuing our annual summary of the year's best books, we asked the Bookreporter.com hosting staff to give us their picks for Best of 2001. And the New York staff and our reviewers each select their top pick for the year. We've also added a special list of holiday books for all ages including traditional classics and more recent favorites, too. This in addition to our previously announced Best of 2001 in adult, teen and kids reads.
What to Give, What to Get
Holiday shopping is underway and we're adding new categories every week in our gift book selections. This week, we've rounded up some great ideas for music lovers and teenagers, as well as some small but beautiful books that would be perfect as stocking stuffers, or gift exchanges, or thanks yous.
