Dear Reader:

Bookreporter readers have been asking for ways to steer other readers to us on their personal websites. As promised, we have prepared some pages of graphics and links for The Book Report Network websites. They can be found here. Many thanks in advance to any of you who will include a link to us on your websites. Be sure to mention our Library Resource Center to your school or community librarians so they can make use of our sites as well.

Three bookish moments of the week....

Sarah Brennan, Jennifer Abbots and I attended the National Book Awards on Wednesday night. It's the night the book industry dresses up and celebrates itself, and literature. Read what happened --- and who won --- in Sarah's editorial entitled a Gala Evening For Book Awards.

Got some nice news from Steve Orkin, who used to be a host in our chat room on AOL. He was one of the winners in Stephen King's On Writing contest. There were over 1000 submissions and only 5 winners, so as you might imagine, we are pretty proud to say we knew him when!  If you care to give the story a read, the address is:
http://www.stephenking.com/OnWriting.html

As I send off this note my family is heading out to see the Harry Potter movie. Thanks to Moviefone.com, I was able to be the "hero" to my kids and get tickets to the 4:00 show on opening day. Whoa! I call moments like this making a memory. Would love to hear what you think about the movie. Drop me a note at Carol@bookreporter.com.

Onto this week's lineup...

One You Don't Want to Miss
EVA MOVES THE FURNITURE by Margot Livesey is an engaging novel centered around Eva McEwen, a young Scottish woman. Her mother having died in childbirth, Eva is raised by her father and Aunt Lily. She does, though, have other "companions" --- a ghostly pair who drift in and out of her life. When Eva finally decides to make her secret known, heartbreak ensues. Yet another deftly crafted novel by the very talented Livesey.
