Dear Reader:
A very smart reader gave me an idea yesterday. As we are just doing titles and not
promos in the newsletter, she asked if we could include the genre of each title along with
the link. We'll start including genres this week. I also am including some of the features
and reviews we put up on Monday (beats tracking down the newsletter in your mailbox) in
case you did not get a chance to browse through them. I know that many of you have told me
that this newsletter and exploring our website are weekend projects.
On Kidsreads.com this week we added a terrific excerpt that you may want to take a look at
called Understanding
Terrorism. It's from a forthcoming book called BAD STUFF IN THE NEWS: A Family Guide
to Handling the Headlines by authors Rabbi Marc Gellman and Monsignor Thomas Hartman. As
your children ask questions about the past weeks' events, this excerpt may have some ideas
on how to explain things to them.
Also, iPictureBooks.com is offering a free eBook of A Kid's Guide to How to Stop the
Violence by Ruth Harris Terrell. It helps explain violence and its roots.
This Week's Question
We are keeping the same question up this week:
In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks is there any book that brought you comfort?
To answer the Question of the Week, please send your response to
