Trunk Music

Harry Bosch is back and I am thrilled! Connelly weaves a wonderful story, beginning with a body found in the trunk of a Rolls. "Trunk music" is a term used for a Mafia hit. Harry travels between L.A. and Las Vegas, as it seems the victim had just returned from one of his frequest Vegas trips. Harry, of course, ends up in a romance, which leaves him a bit vulnerable, but in true Bosch form, he is able to pull things together! He has a commander I really like -- Grace Billets, a tough person with ideas of her own about organizing the homicide unit. She also knows when to trust her gut. Connolly points out the politics of a large police department and the problems that result when more than one law enforcement organization is involved. There is a neat twist at the end... one that I didn't expect at all!
