Summer is (Almost) in the Books!
I saw a leaf in the pool the other day and realized that the days of summer are waning. We at FaithfulReader.com are taking the time to fully appreciate the end of summer. The days are still warm, and there is still time to indulge in all things summer, even if a night chill means maybe a bonfire should be on the agenda as well! With that in mind...some reading suggestions!

Our special contest this month celebrates WAR ROOM: Prayer Is a Powerful Weapon by Chris Fabry, a novelization based on the major motion picture of the same name, which is now in theaters. Mother and real estate agent Elizabeth Jordan wishes that her husband would help out more around the house. But with a thriving career as a pharmaceutical salesman, Tony’s time is spent on work. Despite their successes, Tony and Elizabeth cannot seem to spend time together without fighting. However, when Elizabeth visits the home of Clara, an elderly widow, hoping to make a sale, she discovers Clara’s secret prayer room, with its walls covered in requests and answers. As tensions continue to rise at home, Clara suggests that Elizabeth create her own prayer room, and she sees that putting her future in God’s hands may be her last hope.

We’re giving five lucky readers the chance to win a copy of WAR ROOM. All you have to do is fill out this form by Wednesday, September 23rd at noon ET. For more information about the movie, please visit the film’s official website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channel.

We are delighted to share 11 reviews with you this month. Our nonfiction titles include FOR THE LOVE, Jen Hatmaker’s encouraging new book for modern women about “fighting for grace in a world of impossible standards” (we just heard that this book is an instant New York Times bestseller!) and SEARCHING FOR SUNDAY by Rachel Held Evans, which is both a heartfelt ode to the past and a hopeful gaze into the future of what it means to be a part of the Church. Our fiction offerings include SOMEDAY HOME, Lauraine Snelling’s heartfelt novel about three women attempting to build a home; and A HOUSE DIVIDED, a thriller by Robert Whitlow about a high-stakes legal case that threatens to destroy a family.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
