Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Joanne Fluke's KEY LIME PIE MURDER.

Diane from Ellicott City, MD

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes, I have read all of her series.

What other mystery writers do you read?
I love female authors who write about female heroines. I love series centered around female arts --- cooking, scrapbooking, card making, running inns and tea shops --- just to name a few!

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I loved it. It actually kept me reading long after I should have turned out the light. There were enough new colorful people and interactions, with the home town feel for which Fluke is known.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes --- I can't wait for the next book.

Kathy Ann from Lisle, IL

Yes, all her earlier books.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I'm enjoying it so far (I have only read 119 pages and don't think I will be able to finish it before the deadline); at the moment, I'm wondering if Hannah will ever get to eat one of those deep-fried candy bars, lol. It has been a while since I read anything, and I know it has been a long time since I read Fluke's last [book]. I've not done much reading at all lately due to various issues; so, I may have enjoyed it more than normal because of all that. I liked it for the usual reasons that I like Fluke's books --- it's a cozy, it's predictable in terms of plot, and I like the recipes.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes.

Heather from Sylvan Lake, AB

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
I have read all of Joanne Flukes books previously.

What other mystery writers do you read?
I read a lot of mystery series by female authors: Nancy J. Cohen, Denise Swanson, Joanne Pence, Nancy Martin, Janet Evanovich, Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Shirley Damsgaard, MaryJanice Davidson, Patricia Briggs, Susan McBride, Carrie Vaughn, Victoria Laurie, Madelyn Alt, Alexander McCall Smith and many others. I really enjoy series that allow the characters to develop.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I enjoyed KEY LIME PIE MURDER. It was good to see the relationships between the two men and Hannah develop further. I do wish that, considering her age, the storyline would develop more in a "mature" way, ie. more developed romance scenes.  I felt that Moishe's (by the way, how is this pronounced?) scenes took up a bit too much of the storyline with a relatively unsatisfactory ending. Really, would a cat spend all that time over a little kitten face peering out occasionally?

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Of course, I will read future books by Joanne Fluke. Once[you're] hooked on a character, you have to continue to find out what is happening. It would appear to be like watching soap operas.

I can't wait for the next one. It was really great to be able to review a book like this, please keep me in mind if there are any further opportunities. I do read a lot and it was wonderful to get a book "hot off the presses."

Janice from Apple Valley, MN

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes, I believe I have read all of her series.

What other mystery writers do you read?
Earlene Fowler, Steve Hamilton, Sue Grafton, Robert Ludlum, Lee Child, Lillian Jackson Braun, Sandra Brown, Dick Francis, Janet Evanovich, etc., etc.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I thought it was very good. It was a lot of fun to read, and I always enjoy the recipes and the extra comments in them.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Absolutely!

Linda from Corydon, IN

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
Thank you for the free copy. I have not previously read any of her books, although my sister has given me a copy of THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE MURDER, which I shall read shortly.

What other mystery writers do you read?
Some of my favorite mystery writers are: Earlene Fowler with her Benni Harper series, which has titles named after quilt patterns; Margaret Maron's Deborah Knott Mysteries series; Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series; Elizabeth George's Thomas Lynley and Barbara Havers series and Deborah Crombie's Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James series.  I also enjoy Diane Mott Davidson's books about catering.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I enjoyed KEY LIME PIE MURDER (interesting cast of characters) and will read more in the future. The cat adds a nice touch. I love the recipes and shall certainly try some of them.

Marion from Temecula, CA

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
Thank you for the book! Yes, I have read most of Joanne Fluke's books. I may have missed the first one --- I'll look for it.

What other mystery writers do you read?
I read Marcia Muller, Lisa Scottoline, Margaret Maron and Sara Davidson, etc., and I especially used to like Virginia Rich's books. So, Sara and Joanne have taken her place for me!

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I enjoyed KEY LIME PIE MURDER very much, though the title had nothing to do with the crime --- but that's okay. I didn't want to put the book down. It is interesting how Hannah goes about her sleuthing. I want to try to make her popovers, but I'll pass on the fried candy bars.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Definitely! She set up the scene for next book cleverly (the reunion) and had readers wanting to know Delores' secret. Of course, we want to know, too, if Hannah will pick Norman or Mike! Her biological clock is ticking.

Melissa from Hogansville, GA

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
No.

What other mystery writers do you read?
Laura Childs, Agatha Christie, James Patterson, Karen Robards, Lisa Gardner and Diane Mott Davidson.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I enjoyed this book immensely. I loved the way that Fluke casually worked food into the equation in so many parts of the book, and then scattered the recipes. I found Hannah to be a character that was easy to  identify with and I loved the little everyday humor coupled with Hannah's struggle to choose between the two men in her life.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes.

Norma from Bloomington, IL

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
I have never read a book by Joanne Fluke before this one. A gal in my Book Club reported on the BLUEBERRY MUFFIN MURDER at our February meeting, which got me interested in Joanne Fluke.

What other mystery writers do you read?
I read John Grisham, James Patterson, David Baldacci, Patricia Cornwell and Michael Palmer, etc., etc.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I liked KEY LIME MURDER. I especially enjoyed the characters and the folksy way the book is written. I laughed out loud sometimes at the things Hannah said. She's a real character. I think I'd like her in real life.  The murder was actually a secondary plot as far as I was concerned. Since it's my first Fluke book, I was enjoying her descriptions of the people and the town.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes, I would read another Fluke book after a few serious books. Her books will be a nice change for me.

Sandra from Ocala, FL

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
No, I don't think so

What other mystery writers do you read?
J. A. Jance, Carolyn Hart, Diane Mott Davidson, Rita Mae Brown, Mary Daheim, Lee Harris, Julie Kaewert and Catherine Coulter etc., etc.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I liked it. I liked the characters, especially Hannah --- I cared about her during the story. The recipes are a nice touch; I might even try one. Overall, I liked it so much that I will read the rest of the series.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes, I will read the other Hannah Swensen Mysteries.

Tamara from Grass Valley, CA

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes, I read FUDGE CUPCAKE MURDER and I enjoyed it. Thank you for the opportunity to read and share KEY LIME PIE MURDER with you. I was tickled to be picked.

What other mystery writers do you read?
I started with Agatha Christie when I was in grade school. I enjoy P. D. James, John Grisham, Clive Cussler and Diane Mott Davidson. I just read a mystery by Joanne Harris --- GENTLEMAN AND PLAYERS; it was great. I am not into reading much gore or a lot of sex. Some is nice and spicy; too much is a waste of paper and ink.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I finished the book just minutes ago.  It started slowly, but I enjoyed the little bits of information she gave on different subjects, such as key limes and where they grow. I ended up really caring about all the characters and their roles in Hannah's life. It was an easy and fast book to read. I liked the large paperback format book size and the size of print.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes. I know it will be good. I want to try some of the recipes.

Carla from Plano, TX

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
No.

What other mystery writers do you read?
James Patterson, Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Greg Iles, John Grisham, Jonathan Kellerman, Jill Churchill and Tamar Myers.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
KEY LIME PIE MURDER is a relatively easy read. As with most books, I skip the lengthy descriptions/explanations (fluff) so that I can continue with the meat of the story. I was a little surprised that the murder occurred so late in the book (Chapter 11). I kept wondering if it was a whodunit! However, Fluke provides a relatively simplistic mystery without a lot of gore and guts (for those that can not stand to read that). [Since this was] my first Fluke book, I found it hard to keep up with all of the characters. I will go back to start reading her books in chronological order. This will help me to understand and remember the characters, and allow me to gather all of the great recipes. One fact that I found very unlikely to happen in the real world is that two men are competing for Hannah; and even more of a strain to my imagination was that they would be friends or friendly toward each other.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Yes.

Jeremy from Tucson, AZ

Have you previously read a book by Joanne Fluke?
No.

What other mystery writers do you read?
Kinky Friedman and, depending on what you consider mystery, Elmore Leonard and John Grisham.

What did you think of KEY LIME PIE MURDER?
I really wasn't expecting to like it, but I found it interesting and easy to read. At least until the end. I thought the ending was unoriginal and uninteresting. A good mystery should be surprising, but this one was very formulaic.

Would you ever read a future book by Joanne Fluke?
Probably not.
