To enter the contest readers were asked to tell us what book they remember their fathers reading to them. Below are the winner's responses.

1. Dale form Spring TX

WINNIE THE POOH

2. Matt from Greenup, KY who asked that the book be sent to his father, James

My favorite books my dad read to me were the Curious George books.

3. Valerie from Secaucus, NJ

My father was a man of few words, but when mom came to shove he would like to read "Mowgli" (THE JUNGLE BOOK) by Rudyard Kipling. He would use different voices to amuse us, and we (my sisters and I) would giggle and laugh at this man who never raised his voice. I would wonder what it would be like to be raised by a pack of wolves. I kind of think that wolves might have a better effect on some of our youth today. Then as we grew older and had children of our own my father would baby-sit and for hours he would watch endlessly Disney's JUNGLE BOOK. He then would be laughing and giggling at Baloo the loveable jungle bear. Now when I hear or see THE JUNGLE BOOK it always brings back fond memories of the man with few words and a big bear heart. Well thanks for the memories.

4. Sharon from Buffalo, NY

My favorite book that my father has read to me is WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE by Maurice Sendak

5. Crystal from Williamsburg, KY

My father could not read to me because he has been blind since I was two years old. After I learned to read, I would read to him a lot.
