New York Times Best Illustrated Books of 2006
The New York Times Book Review recently named the Ten Best Illustrated Books of 2006. These titles were selected among several thousand children's books by a panel of judges comprised of author Donald Crews, author Michael Patrick Hearn, and Judy Zuckerman, the assistant director of neighborhood services for the Brooklyn Public Library Judy Zuckerman.
The Best Illustrated Books of 2006 are:

- SO SLEEPY STORY written and illustrated by Uri Shulevitz (Farrar, Straus & Giroux)
- ADÈLE & SIMON written and illustrated by Barbara McClintock (Frances Foster/Farrar, Straus & Giroux)
- MOMMY? art by Maurice Sendak, scenario by Arthur Yorinks, paper engineering by Matthew Reinhart (Michael di Capua/Scholastic)
