2009 Finalists
On October 26, 2009, the Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society announced the finalists for the 14th annual Books for a Better Life Awards, which honor the best self-improvement books published in the last year. The overall winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on February 22, 2010.

2008 Finalists
On October 31st, 2008 the finalists for the 13th annual Books for a Better Life Award were announced in New York. Honoring the best self-improvement books in 2008, an esteemed panel of book sellers and magazine, book club and television book editors chose five finalists from more than 400 entries for each of ten categories, including childcare/parenting, first book, inspirational memoir, motivational, psychology, relationships, spiritual, wellness, and the newly created audiobook and green categories. The overall winners will be revealed on February 23, 2009 at an awards ceremony in Manhattan, to be hosted by Meredith Vieira, co-anchor of NBC’s Today and member of the chapter’s board of trustees. Founded in 1996, the Awards have recognized over 400 self-improvement offers and raised more than $1.5 million for the New York Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

2007 Books For A Better Life Award Winners
On February 25, 2008, the New York Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society announced the winners of the 2007 Books for a Better Life Awards, which honor the best self-improvement titles of the past year. They were chosen by a panel of expert judges from over 400 entries in each of the nine categories. Since its inception 12 years ago, the Awards have recognized more than 350 authors, while raising over $1.4 million to support the New York chapter's support services and educational programs.

The finalists for the 12th Annual Books For A Better Life Awards were announced recently by the New York Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Awards recognize excellence in self-help, motivational, and self-improvement books in nine categories, and will be presented at a ceremony held in New York on February 25, 2008. All profits from the event will go towards funding national research and local chapter services for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Since its inception, the Awards have raised $1.2 million.
