Bookreporter.com's Top 10 of 2001

Putting together this year's "Best Of" lists was a challenge. Though we had read and enjoyed hundreds of books over the course of 2001, our memories initially failed us when it came to books published pre-September 11th. It was as if everything prior to that infamous date simply ceased to exist. But we pressed on, and as we sifted through a slew of books published from January onward, our favorite titles started coming back to us. Our collective amnesia was slowly, but surely, lifting.
