The 2006 GRAMMY Award Winners
Hours before the February 8th telecast of the 48th Annual Grammy Awards, two audio categories of interest to booksellers were honored off-screen at an awards presentation.
Senator Barack Obama won a Grammy for best spoken word album for the audio edition of Dreams From My Father (Random House Audio), while Marlo Thomas and friends won best spoken word album for children for Marlo Thomas & Friends: Thanks & Giving All Year Long, produced by Christopher Cerf and Marlo Thomas (Warner Strategic Marketing).

The 2006 GRAMMY Award Nominees
Nominations for the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences on December 8th. Of the Awards' 31 categories, two belong in the Spoken Word field.
