2004 Borders Original Voices Awards
Borders® Books & Music has announced the winners of the eighth annual Borders Original Voices Awards. These winners will receive $5,000 from the company for their outstanding achievement in crafting creative, original books.
Fiction:
SHADOW OF THE WIND by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (Penguin Press)
Nonfiction:
BALLAD OF THE WHISKEY ROBBER by Julian Rubenstein (Little, Brown)
Children's Picture Books:

2004 Borders Original Voices Award Finalists
Borders® Books & Music has announced the nominees for the 2004 Original Voices Awards. The eighth annual awards include books in the fiction, nonfiction, intermediate/young adult and children's categories. Winners in the four categories will each be awarded a $5,000 prize from the company. Finalists for the awards are chosen by both corporate and store employees. A committee of corporate staff members representing each of the four categories will read each finalist and choose the winners, which will be announced in January.
