WRITTEN IN THE STARS ... FOR APRIL

Wondering about the concept of an astrology column on a book review website? People buy books for all sorts of reasons: how the covers look, what their favorite daytime talk show host is reading, recommendations from their best friend/sister/hairdresser. I propose that more books should be bought through the guidance of the heavens and less by using the wisdom of the surly teenage clerk at your local Borders.

Sign of The Month:

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Ram people are:

Intrepid

LONELY PLANET ON THE EDGE: Extreme Travel by Cecil Kuhne (Editor)

Exuberant

WILD AT HEART: Discovering a Life of Passion, Freedom, and Adventure by John Eldredge

Goal Oriented

IT'S NOT THE BIG THAT EAT THE SMALL...IT'S THE FAST THAT EAT THE SLOW by Jason Jennings and Laurence Haughton

Rabble-Rousing

THE TROUBLE WITH GOVERNMENT by Derek Bok

Passionate

DOING IT: Real People Having Really Good Sex by Isadora Alman

Aries people will probably ignore my list; they prefer to act first and read later. They also will take offense to the idea that they need anyone else's advice on how to manage their life. When giving an Aries a book for their birthday, try to gently steer them immediately into an activity after the gifts are unwrapped. This will ensure that The Ram doesn't get the inkling that someone is infringing on their ultimate authority.

And what if you hate a book I suggest for your sign? I'd like to think that it has less to do with my talent as an astrologer and more to do with the position of your Moon sign.
