Stephen R. Donaldson

- Stephen R. Donaldson was born in 1947 in Ohio, but lived in India until 1963. He now lives in New Mexico.

- The first of Donaldson's many writing awards and honors was given in 1979 by the British Fantasy Society for Best Novel. Other awards include the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer (1979) and the World Fantasy Award for REAVE THE JUST AND OTHER TALES (2000).
- Aside from writing, one of Donaldson's hobbies is martial arts. He received a black belt in Shotokan karate from Sensei Mike Heister and Anshin Personal Defense. He is also a member of Anshin Budo Kai and NM Shotokan Karate.
